The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Fjordlinginsson. Niewschki looks like he wants to counter punch here. Fjordlinginsson dives in and grabs Niewschki's left leg, looking for a takedown. Niewschki pushes down on Fjordlinginsson's head and hops out. Fjordlinginsson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Fjordlinginsson drops his hands momentarily and Niewschki takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Fjordlinginsson feints and as Niewschki raises his hands in defense, Fjordlinginsson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Niewschki is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Fjordlinginsson is controlling him. Niewschki wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Fjordlinginsson manages to pass to side control. Fjordlinginsson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Fjordlinginsson is looking to work his way around to Niewschki's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position. Niewschki really wants to buck Fjordlinginsson off and get back to his feet. Fjordlinginsson goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Niewschki turns into him and now he's in Fjordlinginsson's guard.
Fjordlinginsson pushes a forearm under Niewschki's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Niewschki is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
