Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Teddy Shepherd (ranked 5295 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Louise (ranked 5185 p4p, 0 weight class). John Louise will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Teddy Shepherd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Louise! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Louise fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Shepherd avoids it really well and circles away. Louise shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Louise shoots in for a double leg but Shepherd sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Teddy Shepherd has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Louise. Louise changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shepherd tries to avoid it but Louise manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shepherd to the ground. Shepherd escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shepherd drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Shepherd in side control, throwing shots but Louise defends. Louise wants to control but Shepherd postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shepherd tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Shepherd tries to get to his feet but Louise is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Shepherd in his guard. Shepherd wants to stand but Louise is controlling his posture from full guard. Louise is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Shepherd is controlling him. Shepherd gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Louise looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Louise looks winded!
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Shepherd scores with a body shot.
Shepherd throws the kick towards the body but Louise avoids it. Louise throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Shepherd's waist but Shepherd gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Louise off to one side. Shepherd throws a lazy body kick and Louise counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Louise. Shepherd trying to keep a closed guard but Louise is proving a slippery customer.
Louise is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Shepherd striking from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Louise won't allow Shepherd to sweep him here. Shepherd striking from the bottom here. Shepherd scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Louise takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Louise has his takedown stuffed and Shepherd counters by moving into the clinch. Shepherd with an attempt at a knee that misses.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shepherd trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Louise engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Louise trying to control but Shepherd is working from the bottom. Louise stays in close to Shepherd's body and controls the position. Louise forces his way into half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Louise slows the pace down in half guard. Shepherd is looking for a sweep. Louise is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Louise shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Shepherd pinned against the cage. Shepherd gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Louise gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Shepherd counters by moving into the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shepherd content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Louise is trying to pull guard but Shepherd turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Teddy Shepherd has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Louise. Shepherd is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Shepherd stalling against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shepherd looking to slow down the pace here. Shepherd is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Teddy Shepherd. Louise shoots for a takedown but Shepherd saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Louise is breathing heavily. Louise fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Shepherd tries to counter by clinching up but Louise breaks away and moves out of range. Shepherd throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Louise tries to sprawl but Shepherd drives through with a takedown into half guard. Shepherd gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Louise fails with a takedown attempt from distance. A quick step to the side and Shepherd tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Shepherd throws a left and a right that both miss
and Louise counters with a single leg into guard. Shepherd didn't expect that. Shepherd manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Louise manages to get himself to full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Shepherd decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Louise, up you get! A bone on bone clash there as Louise blocks the leg kick.
Louise gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Shepherd to score an easy takedown into full guard. Shepherd wants to stand but Louise is controlling his posture from full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Louise is trying to control the position but Shepherd postures up. Shepherd scoring with some ground and pound. Our spies down at at Cozad MMA Montreal inform us that Louise has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Shepherd is looking to stand up but Louise won't let him. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Louise tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Shepherd defends well and Louise ends up having to push Shepherd into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Shepherd thumps Louise with a low kick. John Louise seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Louise moves into the clinch. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Shepherd effectively controlling the action here. Shepherd misses with a knee strike.

Teddy Shepherd dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Louise shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Shepherd napping and manages to drive through into side control! Shepherd is looking for a sweep. Shepherd sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Shepherd is staying active underneath Louise, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Louise takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Louise with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Shepherd really is a fat lump. Shepherd wants to get back to full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shepherd is working hard here to advance position. Louise thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's one minute gone in the round. Still in half guard, Louise seems content to control. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Louise works his way into full mount! Louise landing shots from mount. Louise controlling the position easily from mount. Shepherd is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Louise can do to turn this around? Shepherd can't escape the position.
Louise takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shepherd regains half guard. Shepherd is staying active underneath Louise, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Shepherd punching from the bottom.
Louise is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Louise thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Louise tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Shepherd. Teddy Shepherd overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Shepherd striking from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shepherd wants to improve his position but Louise is controlling well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Louise closes this distance looking for a takedown but Shepherd circles away. Shepherd gets a double leg takedown into Louise's guard. Shepherd gets to his feet. Louise looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Shepherd gets tackled into the cage by Louise. Louise maintains the clinch. Shepherd is trying to maintain a safe position but Louise gets an underhook and turns Shepherd into the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Louise is defending well against a takedown attempt. Louise decides to pull guard. Louise pulls Shepherd in close to his closed guard and prevents Shepherd from doing any damage or advancing position. Shepherd tries to stand but Louise is controlling from the bottom. Louise pulls Shepherd in close to prevent any damage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Louise looking for a guillotine here but Shepherd defends easily.
And that's the end of the fight! John Louise comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Shepherd has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
