Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Martin Lindner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Migel Motta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Martin Lindner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Migel Motta! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Motta fails with a takedown attempt. Lindner fails with the takedown and Motta counters by moving into the clinch. Motta gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Lindner.
Lindner wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Martin Lindner. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lindner is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Motta gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Motta gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Lindner regains guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lindner looking to hit a scissor sweep but Motta is one step ahead there. Motta is stalling in the full guard. Motta must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Motta tries to stand but Lindner is controlling from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lindner working a defensive guard here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Motta chips away with some ground and pound. Lindner not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Motta with a nice head shot there. Motta postures up in Lindner's guard and throws a big left but Lindner blocks it. Motta loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Motta throws a strike but Lindner rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Motta looking for a sweep. Not yet Motta, not yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Motta working a defensive guard but Lindner manages to pass into side control anyway.
Lindner wants to control but Motta is keeping him busy. Motta wants to get back to his feet but Lindner drags him back down. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Motta can do anything to dispel that myth. Motta is looking to regain half guard here but Lindner keeps moving and retains side control.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Motta tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lindner paws at him with a jab and circles away. Motta looks to land a combination. Lindner sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Lindner fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Motta, pushing him back against the cage. Motta is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Lindner jumps guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Motta trying to control the position from guard on top but Lindner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lindner is trying to keep Motta in close.
Motta wants to pass the guard but Lindner is keeping the position. Motta wants to control from the top but Lindner keeps moving. Motta pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lindner is keeping the position for now.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Lindner rushes Motta and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Lindner is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Lindner looking for a takedown. Lindner has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Motta is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Motta fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Motta just leaning against Lindner, taking a breather. Lindner tries to pull guard but Motta won't allow it.
Lindner tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Motta smiles and moves away.
Motta doesn't succeed with the takedown and Lindner counters with a lovely straight right hand! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Migel Motta dominated that round. That's time! Lindner's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Lindner misses with a takedown and Motta counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lindner won't be happy with that. Motta is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Lindner will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Motta working away. Motta decides to take the fight back to the feet. Lindner with a lazy takedown attempt letting Motta counter with a right hand. A punch combination from Motta misses. Martin Lindner is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Motta takes the fight into the clinch. Motta gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Lindner regains guard.

Motta is in close to Lindner's body, working some short punches and elbows. Motta pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lindner is keeping the position for now. Motta slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Lindner keeping moving, preventing Motta from controlling successfully. Motta content to stall in guard here.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Motta takes the fight into the clinch. Motta's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Motta decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Well, if Motta is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Lindner looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Motta is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Motta pushes down on Lindner's leg and manages to get into half guard. Lindner trying to hold on to Motta's head to control him but Motta postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Motta in particular looking to stall. Motta is looking to advance position but Lindner won't allow it. Lindner wants to control but Motta is keeping busy and won't allow it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Migel Motta showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Motta drops down looking for an ankle pick but Lindner pulls his leg out and moves away.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Lindner. Lindner tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Motta tries to bench press Lindner off him but Lindner keeps the position. Lindner advances to full mount. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Motta tries to hold on but Lindner postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lindner looking to secure an arm triangle but Motta defends it well. Motta holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Lindner tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Motta is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Motta tries to lock up and control but Lindner gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Motta is in all sorts of trouble here.
Lindner can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Motta is looking to escape. Lindner avoids the attempt from Motta to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Motta is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Lindner is staying active.
Despite being in the dominant position, Migel Motta just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Lindner misses with a takedown and Motta cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Lindner shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lindner showed some decent athleticism there. Lindner is looking for a kimura but Motta is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lindner to get the leverage. Lindner trying to control the action but Motta is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Motta throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Motta regains full guard. Nicely done. Motta really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lindner. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Motta wants to stand and escape but Lindner is having none of it. Motta being controlled here, momentarily. Migel Motta has got the better of the ground game so far. Motta not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Lindner pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Motta is keeping the position for now. Martin Lindner has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Migel Motta is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Lindner being controlled here momentarily.
And that's the end of the fight! Martin Lindner showed his dominance in that final round. Well Motta has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
