Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Slim Sylvia (ranked 1938 p4p, 236 weight class) and Johnny Pendleton (ranked 1386 p4p, 179 weight class). Sylvia comes into the arena with Some Country Shit blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Pendleton's choice of entrance music: Walk - Pantera. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pendleton gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Sylvia.
Pendleton has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Sylvia ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pendleton moves away.
Sylvia takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

It looks like Slim Sylvia has been cut.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sylvia lands with an uppercut that bounces Pendleton off the cage and back into range.

Sylvia throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pendleton.
Sylvia looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Pendleton connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Pendleton clinches up with Sylvia and pushes him back against the cage.
Sylvia tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Pendleton breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sylvia lands a high kick!
Pendleton wants to land a leg kick but Sylvia is out of range.
Nice uppercut lands for Pendleton. That snapped Sylvia's head back.
Pendleton throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Sylvia was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Pendleton takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Sylvia bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

That was a close round but I would say that Slim Sylvia will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Pendleton tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Sylvia manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
It looked like Sylvia was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

It looks like Sylvia has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

Sylvia lands a big head kick that sends Pendleton tumbling to the mat! Sylvia takes a step backwards and waves Pendleton back to his feet - he wants the finish!
