Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mon Ster (ranked 247 p4p, 37 weight class) and Tomomi Tsuruta (ranked 624 p4p, 90 weight class). Ster comes to the cage accompanied by The Automatic - Monster. Mon Ster has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

25 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tomomi Tsuruta! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, John Roberts and Columbo Gatti.

It looks like Mon Ster has been cut. Tsuruta shoots in looking for a takedown but Ster manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tsuruta's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Nice shot by Tsuruta. Tsuruta throws out a loose jab but Ster uses good head movement to avoid it. Tsuruta uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ster. Sloppy strikes from Ster. Those never looked like landing. Ster looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Tsuruta avoids the head kick by Ster.
Tsuruta shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ster but Ster pushes him off and we're back to square one. Ster throws a sloppy head kick and Tsuruta moves out of range easily. Danga de danga de dang - Ster scores with a four punch combination!
It looks like Tomomi Tsuruta has been cut. Tsuruta connects with a body shot. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Tsuruta lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Ster throws an off balance right hand
and Tsuruta counters with a lovely straight right hand! Tsuruta misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ster.
That's one minute gone in the round. A head kick misses from Ster. Tsuruta blocks a head kick by Ster.
Tsuruta scores with a hook. Ster has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Team Beta Fail in the buildup to the fight. Ster looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Tomomi Tsuruta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ster tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Ster throws an overhand right that lands on Tsuruta's shoulder, as Tsuruta tries to avoid the shot. Ster avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Ster does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Ster throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Tsuruta walks into a jab. Ster takes a jab right on the kisser.
Tsuruta lands a glancing blow to the side of Ster's head. Tsuruta avoids the head kick by Ster.
Tsuruta moves into range and connects with a jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Tsuruta jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Tsuruta looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Ster shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Ster stuffs the takedown. Mon Ster has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tomomi Tsuruta. Tsuruta swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Ster is looking to land body kicks. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Tsuruta! But no joy. Ster fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Tsuruta has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Ster connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Tsuruta momentarily.
Tsuruta moves out of range of the body kick. Ster walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Ster throws a push kick but Tsuruta slaps the foot to one side. Ster tries to sprawl but Tsuruta drives through with a takedown into half guard. Tsuruta sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Ster defending well though. Ster manages to get to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tsuruta stopping the sweep attempt from Ster. Tsuruta cracks Ster with a solid left hand. Tsuruta won't allow Ster to sweep him here. Tsuruta with a nice head shot there. Tsuruta is stalling in the full guard. Tsuruta stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ster swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Tsuruta working some strikes from top position.
Mon Ster's cut is getting worse. Tsuruta wants to control from the top but Ster keeps moving. Tsuruta loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Tsuruta trying to control but Ster is working from the bottom. Tsuruta has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Ster tries to land a sweep but no joy. Tsuruta is looking to work some ground and pound but Ster has wrist control. Ster keeping moving, preventing Tsuruta from controlling successfully.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Tsuruta fails with a takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Tomomi Tsuruta will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Ster knocks Tsuruta to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!?
Tsuruta is rocked! Ster misses with the ground and pound. Tsuruta manages to work his way to half guard, despite Ster's best efforts. Tsuruta looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Ster not landing any meaningful shots this time. Tsuruta wants to get back to full guard but Ster has mounted him! Ster is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tsuruta can do to turn this around? The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ster fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Tsuruta tries to hold on but Ster pushes him away. Tsuruta is working to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tsuruta is squirming around, avoiding Ster's attempts to control the action. Tsuruta is looking to improve his position but Ster isn't that keen on the idea. Tsuruta is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Ster prevents Tsuruta from getting the reversal. Ster wants to control the pace but Tsuruta is squirming around nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ster with good strikes from the mount here! Tsuruta is still in real trouble! Can Ster finish him?
That has opened up Tomomi Tsuruta's cut even more. Tsuruta working to try and regain half guard.
Tsuruta seems to have recovered his senses. Ster looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Tsuruta covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
