Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Simon Fell (ranked 24159 p4p, 695 weight class) and Jim Pickens (ranked 7793 p4p, 651 weight class). Pickens is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Remember the name. Jim Pickens looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Simon Fell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jim Pickens! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fell scores with a takedown into Pickens's guard. Pickens looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Fell controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Fell has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Pickens had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Fell defends it easily. Fell with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fell wants to pass the guard but Pickens is keeping the position. Fell is looking to stand up but Pickens won't let him. Pickens not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fell sitting in guard here, content to control. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Fell shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pickens's guard. Fell is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Fell has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pickens keeping full guard, as Fell tries to pass. Fell gets to his feet. Pickens looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Fell shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pickens's guard. Pickens looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Pickens working for a triangle but Fell defends it easily.
Fell engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fell pushing down on Pickens's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Fell seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Nice strikes from Fell there. Fell working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Pickens is rocked! Fell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pickens on the ground. Fell scores with a big shot! Pickens's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Pickens! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Simon Fell!
