Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Steven Bradley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Raul Frank! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Patrick Alders and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bradley misses with a wild combination.
Horrible takedown attempt by Frank or perhaps it was just good defense by Bradley, which made it look bad. Frank fails with the takedown and Bradley counters by moving into the clinch. Bradley really is a fat lump. Bradley is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Bradley lands a takedown into guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Frank working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Bradley. Bradley stands up over Frank, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Bradley distracts Frank with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bradley landing with the ground and pound. Bradley postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Bradley really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill... Bradley throwing strikes but missing. Bradley cracks Frank with a solid left hand. Frank avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Frank avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Frank looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Bradley might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Frank looks winded! Bradley scoring with punches to the head and body. Bradley cracks Frank with a solid left hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bradley working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Frank's head. Bradley keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Frank's head. Bradley postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Frank really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bradley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Bradley trying to control the position from guard on top but Frank is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bradley drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Bradley as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Frank screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Bradley! Nice submission victory there!
