Coming up we have a featherweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Dado Mata (ranked 774 p4p, 92 weight class) and Rollo Gracie (ranked 747 p4p, 89 weight class). Mata comes to the cage accompanied by 和楽器バンド / 千本桜. Gracie has chosen Jiu Jitsu: Apaga Mas Não Bate as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 13 wins and 12 losses; Dado Mata! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 13 wins and 3 losses; Rollo Gracie! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Steve Smith.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Mata displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gracie. Gracie is looking to clinch but Mata is avoiding it.
Gracie gets caught flat footed, as Mata shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Mata (2) vs (0) Gracie Mata looking to pass the guard. Gracie controlling Mata's posture. Mata looking to pass the guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mata being controlled here momentarily. Mata won't allow Gracie to sweep him here.

Mata passes Gracie's left leg - he's now in half guard. Gracie is looking to control Mata's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gracie avoid being mounted?

Mata is thwarting Gracie's attempts to control the position. Gracie slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Mata sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Gracie's guard. Mata is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's four minutes gone in the round. What's Gracie going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle. Gracie is looking to reverse the position. Mata tries to advance to mount but Gracie denies him. You can see the frustration on Gracie's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Mata wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gracie keeps working. Mata moves into full mount! Score +2 for reaching mount: Mata (10) vs (0) Gracie Mata trying to control but Gracie is having none of it. Gracie tries to lock up and control but Mata gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Mata wants to control the pace but Gracie is squirming around nicely.

That's seven minutes gone in the round. Gracie stops Mata from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. Mata wants to control the pace but Gracie is squirming around nicely. Gracie tries to control the position but Mata now has his back.

That's eight minutes gone in the round. Gracie is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Mata.

Mata is not going to allow Gracie to sit and survive in this position. Mata has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Gracie has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Gracie tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Mata tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Gracie bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Gracie showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Gracie pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mata is keeping the position for now. Mata lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Gracie is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Gracie stops Mata from passing to mount. Mata wants to control but Gracie is keeping him busy. Mata wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Gracie, who protects the arm well.
That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Mata wants to take a breather but Gracie manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Mata. Gracie keeping full guard, as Mata tries to pass. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mata is looking to pass into half guard but Gracie pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Gracie is in guard. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Mata (18) vs (4) Gracie Mata seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Mata wants to sweep but no luck. Gracie not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Gracie tries to free his leg and advance position but Mata is retaining full guard. Gracie's corner is telling him to maintain position. Mata looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gracie is one step ahead there. Gracie trying to control but Mata is working from the bottom.
That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Mata looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Mata is looking to sweep but instead, Gracie has passed into half guard.
Mata wants to get back to full guard. Gracie controlling the action here. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Mata tries to roll over but Gracie keeps him under control.
And that's the end of the fight! Mata takes the fight on points by 18 to 4. Dado Mata retains his featherweight title! A very excited looking Dado Mata made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet.
