Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Desmond Lewis (ranked 3324 p4p, 0 weight class) and Esteban Casillas (ranked 5284 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Desmond Lewis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Esteban Casillas! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, David Schapiro and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lewis defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Casillas. Lewis throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Casillas shoots in looking for a takedown. Lewis tries to sprawl out of it but Casillas keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lewis manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Casillas shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Lewis counters with a one-two to the body. Desmond Lewis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Esteban Casillas. Casillas defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lewis. Casillas tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Lewis manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Casillas fails with a takedown attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lewis scores with a head kick. Casillas tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Casillas attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Lewis shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Casillas pinned against the cage. Casillas gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Lewis throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Casillas shoots in but no luck this time. Casillas fails with a takedown attempt. Lewis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Casillas tries to avoid it but Lewis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Casillas to the ground. Casillas escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Casillas checks a leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Casillas with a lazy takedown attempt and Lewis counters with a one-two to the body. Casillas fails with a takedown attempt. Lewis fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Casillas avoids it really well and circles away. Casillas lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Casillas pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lewis lands with a nice combination. Casillas backs away looking to recover. This has been an exciting period of action! Casillas shoots in for a takedown but Lewis shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Lewis fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Casillas, pushing him back against the cage. Lewis really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Casillas has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Lewis after a bit of a struggle. That's three minutes gone in the round. Casillas misses with a short punch on the inside. Lewis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Casillas avoids the head kick by Lewis.
Casillas tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lewis sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Casillas somewhat. Lewis is looking to counter with head kicks. Lewis misses with a takedown attempt - Casillas sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Lewis moves into range and clinches up with Casillas. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Lewis. Lewis scores with an uppercut up the middle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lewis goes for a takedown attempt but Casillas pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Lewis thuds his shin into the meat of Casillas's side. Lewis is looking to clinch. Horrible takedown attempt by Casillas or perhaps it was just good defense by Lewis, which made it look bad. Casillas tries to close the distance and clinch but Lewis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Casillas tries to clinch but Lewis is having none of it. Casillas walks forward, straight into a front kick from Lewis. Lewis digs a good body shot into Casillas's ribs. Lewis shoots in and drives through. Casillas sprawls well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Desmond Lewis dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Casillas shoots in for a takedown but Lewis shows good takedown defense. Lewis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Casillas's waist but Casillas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lewis off to one side. Lewis wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Lewis is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Casillas looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Casillas gets tackled into the cage by Lewis. Lewis maintains the clinch. Lewis tries to score a body lock takedown but Casillas shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Lewis is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Lewis takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Casillas fails to pull guard.
Lewis is trying to drag Casillas to the mat but Casillas just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Desmond Lewis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lewis stalls. Lewis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Casillas tries to clinch but Lewis is having none of it. Casillas walks into a jab. Lewis keeps the fight on the outside. Desmond Lewis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Lewis throws a body punch but Casillas moves out of range. Lewis feints a jab promting Casillas to slip. Lewis then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Casillas slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Casillas gets tackled into the cage by Lewis. Lewis maintains the clinch. Lewis breaks the clinch.
Casillas fails with a takedown attempt. Lewis scores with a one two! Casillas had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Casillas looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lewis is fending him off so far but Casillas persists. Nope, Lewis circles away and we're back to standing. It looked like Lewis wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Casillas looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Lewis defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Casillas. Casillas is breathing heavily. Casillas tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lewis was well out of range. Poor timing from Casillas. Casillas tries to clinch up. It looked like Lewis was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Casillas. Desmond Lewis is winning the standup battle so far. Lewis scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Lewis is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Casillas can do to turn this around? Casillas shoots for a takedown but Lewis saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Casillas is looking to clinch but Lewis is avoiding it.

Casillas goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Lewis takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. No luck for Casillas with that takedown attempt. Lewis shoots in and drives through. Casillas sprawls well. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Casillas! But no joy. Casillas swats away the attempt to clinch by Lewis. Lewis circles away from the clinch attempt.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lewis is defended easily by Casillas. Casillas moves in looking to clinch but Lewis pushes him off. Lewis swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Lewis shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Casillas connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Lewis leaves Casillas with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Lewis went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Casillas shoots for a takedown but Lewis saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Casillas moves to clinch but Lewis breaks away and Lewis counters with a stiff right hand. Lewis scores with a three punch combo!

Casillas is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Lewis to keep the fight standing. Esteban Casillas has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Desmond Lewis is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Casillas creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
And that's the end of the fight! Desmond Lewis showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lewis, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
