Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Terrell Kerr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shaun Bapelle!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick by Bapelle misses

and Kerr counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kerr.

Kerr stands and steps away. Bapelle gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kerr is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bapelle knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Kerr wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bapelle, who protects the arm well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bapelle misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kerr seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Bapelle. Kerr shrugs it off though.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kerr missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Kerr seems to be working for a kimura but Bapelle defends the submission attempt.

Kerr wants to work for an arm triangle but Bapelle is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Bapelle keeps control of the position for the meantime.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kerr decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kerr has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Bapelle.
Kerr tries to clinch but Bapelle is having none of it.

Bapelle really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kerr. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bapelle tries to score with a low kick but Kerr moves his leg out of the way.
Bapelle tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Kerr shoots in but Bapelle avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Bapelle.

and Kerr counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Bapelle!
Bapelle wants to get back to his feet but Kerr is dominant here and he's now got Bapelle's back!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Bapelle tries to escape but Kerr has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Kerr has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Bapelle has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Bapelle covering up well and avoiding damage.

Bapelle is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Kerr gets his way!

Kerr is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Bapelle lands a head kick. Kerr smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Kerr stands up.
Bapelle throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kerr went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Bapelle fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Kerr has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Bapelle takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Kerr is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Bapelle sees it coming and defends easily.

Bapelle kicks Kerr off and gets back to his feet.

Kerr bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Bapelle looks to move to half guard but instead Kerr has passed into mount! Damn!

Kerr is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Kerr!
