Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Everett Arroyo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stockton Yard!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Alyssa Summers and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yard ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Arroyo moves away.
Yard misses with a few strikes there.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Yard enables Arroyo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Yard manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Yard controlling the position.
Arroyo looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
We've been hearing that Arroyo has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Yard looking to hit a scissor sweep but Arroyo is one step ahead there.
Yard is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yard wants to sweep but no luck.
Arroyo looking to pass the guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Arroyo pushing down on Yard's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Arroyo uses his free foot to push down on Yard's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Yard.
Yard blocking the ground and pound.
Yard tries to hold on but Arroyo pushes him away.

Arroyo is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Yard has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Arroyo fails to take his opponent's back.
Yard is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Yard really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Arroyo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Arroyo trying to control but Yard is having none of it.
Yard can't escape the position.

Yard bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Arroyo is looking for a triangle but Yard pushes his legs off easily.
Arroyo pulls Yard in close to prevent any damage.
Yard must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Yard is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Arroyo has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Yard should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Arroyo has tightened it up now! Yard should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
