Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Buck Vaughan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lars Ainstromen!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Saam Ante and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ainstromen moves into the clinch.
Vaughan is trying to break the clinch but Ainstromen has him pressed against the cage.

Ainstromen has clasped his hands together around Vaughan's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Ainstromen decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Ainstromen shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Vaughan is trying to maintain the position but Ainstromen is very close to passing his half guard.
Ainstromen tries to pass the half guard into mount. Vaughan knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Ainstromen slows the pace down in half guard.
Ainstromen wants to free his trapped foot but Vaughan is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Vaughan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Vaughan is looking to control Ainstromen's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Vaughan avoid being mounted?
Ainstromen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Vaughan keeps working.

Ainstromen stands up out of the half guard.

Ainstromen bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Ainstromen wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Vaughan, who protects the arm well.

Ainstromen tries to advance to mount but Vaughan denies him.
Ainstromen looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Ainstromen goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Vaughan rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Ainstromen's guard! Nice work there by Vaughan!

Ainstromen looking for subs off his back but Vaughan has passed one foot through into half guard.

Vaughan landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Vaughan thows a huge punch but Ainstromen dodges it nicely.

Vaughan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ainstromen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ainstromen can do anything to dispel that myth.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Vaughan in particular looking to stall.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Lars Ainstromen will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Ainstromen slaps away a takedown attempt from Vaughan, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Ainstromen shoots in and gets a takedown into Vaughan's guard.

Vaughan is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Ainstromen presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Vaughan misses with an elbow strike.

Ainstromen wants the takedown. Vaughan is fighting it off but Ainstromen persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Vaughan's guard against the cage.
Buck Vaughan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Vaughan is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ainstromen is controlling him.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ainstromen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Ainstromen manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Vaughan trying to stall but Ainstromen improves his position.
Vaughan is looking to break free of the clinch but Ainstromen has double underhooks.
Vaughan is looking to take this one to the mat.

Ainstromen has hold of one of Vaughan's legs. Vaughan is fighting the takedown attempt but Ainstromen gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Ainstromen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Ainstromen won't allow Vaughan to get back to his feet.

Ainstromen drops back, looking for a kneebar! Vaughan looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Vaughan looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Vaughan!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Vaughan prevents Ainstromen from getting the reversal.

Ainstromen sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Ainstromen keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vaughan trying to control the action but Ainstromen is working from the bottom.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ainstromen wants to improve his position but Vaughan is controlling well.

Vaughan postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Ainstromen to stand up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Buck Vaughan will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Ainstromen throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Vaughan escapes and throws Ainstromen's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Ainstromen is not content to let Vaughan control the position.
Ainstromen tries to control but Vaughan manages to take his back.

Vaughan is working hard for the rear naked choke here.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Ainstromen tries to escape the position.
Vaughan lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
Vaughan is hanging on to Ainstromen's back as he tries to escape.

Vaughan has his arm under Ainstromen's chin here. Game over son! Vaughan squeezes tightly and Ainstromen is forced to tap out!
