The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown attempt by Tanner or perhaps it was just good defense by Ast, which made it look bad.
Ast tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Ast controls the position.
Ast is looking to take a break and control but Tanner is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like Ast might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Tanner dives in and grabs Ast's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ast pushes down on Tanner's head and hops out.

Ast tightens his grip and picks Tanner up, before dumping him to the ground. Tanner manages to land in guard.

Ast slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Ast takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Ast tries to pass the half guard into mount. Tanner knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Tanner throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ast's waist but Ast gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tanner off to one side.
And Ast tries to counter it with a takedown but Tanner pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Ast has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tanner can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Tanner looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Ast tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Tanner tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ast swivels and escapes.
Tanner tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ast defends well and Tanner ends up having to push Ast into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Let's hope that Ast has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
