Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nik Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sulaiman Mehdi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sulaiman Mehdi is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miller tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mehdi swivels and escapes. Miller shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Miller won't let Mehdi get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Miller unloads with some shots from mount but Mehdi bucks and avoids them well.
Miller can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mehdi is looking to escape. Miller won't let Mehdi get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Miller cracks Mehdi with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Mehdi is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Miller trying to control but he's not successful this time. Mehdi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Miller. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miller controlling the pace for now. Miller misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Mehdi is squirming around, avoiding Miller's attempts to control the action. Mehdi blocking the ground and pound. Miller can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mehdi is looking to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Miller working for a submission but Mehdi is keeping him at bay. Miller wants to control the pace but Mehdi is squirming around nicely. Miller sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Miller tries to control but Mehdi wriggling away.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Nik Miller just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Miller misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Mehdi tries a low kick but Miller avoids it. Mehdi misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Mehdi keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nik Miller. That's going to take a lot out of him. Miller closes the distance and clinches up with Mehdi, looking for a takedown. Miller pushes Mehdi against the cage but Mehdi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Miller is breathing heavily. Mehdi lands with a thumping leg kick.
Mehdi throws a head kick that misses. Mehdi throws a leg kick but Miller checks it. Mehdi throws a wild body kick that Miller sees coming a mile off. A head kick misses from Mehdi. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Mehdi looks to land a body kick but Miller moved away. Miller throws a head kick that misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Nik Miller will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Miller shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Miller was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Miller throws some wild stikes that Mehdi manages to avoid easily.
Miller controlling the pace for now. Miller is going olschool here, as he tries to force Mehdi to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Mehdi shrugs it off. Miller tries to control but Mehdi wriggling away. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Miller misses with a straight right. Miller moves out of range as Mehdi throws a body kick.
Miller closes the distance and clinches. Miller manages to break the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Miller closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mehdi circles away. Miller throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Miller. Mehdi wants to get back to his feet but Miller drags him back down. Miller controls the position from side control. Miller decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mehdi to his feet.

Miller throws a leg kick that is checked and Mehdi finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Mehdi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nik Miller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Miller scores a takedown into full mount! Mehdi wants to try and get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nik Miller dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Mehdi throws a solid leg kick but Miller takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Mehdi. Mehdi motions for Miller to come forward. Mehdi throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Miller throws a leg kick but Mehdi sees it coming and moves out of range. Mehdi tries a head kick but it misses.

Miller fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mehdi sprawls well initially but Miller persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Miller seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Mehdi is staying active underneath Miller, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Sulaiman Mehdi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mehdi avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Miller. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Miller connects with a nice short shot to Mehdi's temple. Mehdi is staying active underneath Miller, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Miller sitting and controlling from the half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Miller is looking to take a break and control but Mehdi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Nik Miller. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Miller, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
