Coming up we have a super heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Anthony Birchack (ranked 7629 p4p, 99 weight class) and Bad Boy (ranked 3985 p4p, 141 weight class). Boy has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Anthony Birchack has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. No luck with that takedown attempt from Birchack. Birchack fails with a takedown attempt. Birchack looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Boy is fending him off so far but Birchack persists. Nope, Boy circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anthony Birchack. That's going to take a lot out of him. Boy doesn't manage to clinch there - Birchack circles away.
Birchack tries to counter with a takedown but Boy is quick to defend against it. Birchack dives in and scores a takedown into Boy's guard. Birchack uses his free foot to push down on Boy's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Boy. Score +3 for passing guard: Birchack (5) vs (0) Boy Boy looks winded! Birchack controlling his opponent. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Birchack is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Boy is in real trouble.

Birchack has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Birchack's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Birchack seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Boy for as long as he can get away with.

That's seven minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Boy's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Good control from Birchack. Boy should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. This is a sustained period of stalling by Birchack. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Birchack has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Boy has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
