Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Shinya Koga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yushin Tai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinya Koga! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yushin Tai! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Sano and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Koga shoots in for a takedown but Tai shows good takedown defense. Koga gets caught flat footed, as Tai shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Koga has his foot on Tai's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tai works his way back into a safe position though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Koga has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tai can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Koga trying to keep a closed guard but Tai is proving a slippery customer.
Tai stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Koga swivels though and keeps the full guard. Koga looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Koga wants to stand up but Tai is controlling him. Tai trying to control but Koga is working from the bottom. Tai looking to pass the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Koga trying to keep a closed guard but Tai is proving a slippery customer.

Koga is breathing heavily. Tai wanted to stand there but Koga had control of the position. Koga looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Tai trying to control the position from guard on top but Koga is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tai slips nicely into half guard. Koga looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Tai is looking to advance position but Koga won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Tai is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Koga wants to get back to his feet. Koga is in trouble now - Tai has advanced to mount! Koga is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Koga throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tai content just to control the position here. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Tai lands a big elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Koga is wriggling around trying to escape.
Tai with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Koga is squirming around, avoiding Tai's attempts to control the action. Koga tries to reverse the position but Tai maintains control. Tai avoids the attempt from Koga to control. Tai controlling the pace for now. Tai moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Koga has worked his arm free - good work by Koga!
Tai tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. You can see the frustration on Koga's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Koga really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Tai tries for a kimura but Koga is defending well. Tai controlling from side mount. Koga wants to control but Tai postures up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Yushin Tai will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Koga has his takedown stuffed so Tai counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Tai trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Koga trying to control the position.
Tai trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Koga throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Tai trying to control but Koga is working from the bottom. Koga working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tai doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tai manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Koga is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round. Tai wants to control from the top but Koga keeps moving. Koga had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Tai is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Koga Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Tai's back instead. Tai rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Koga will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Koga trying to control from half guard but Tai is working away. Koga seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Tai has recovered full guard. Koga trying to stand up but can't free himself from Tai's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Tai throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Tai keeping moving, preventing Koga from controlling successfully. Tai is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Koga preventing the sweep. The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Koga misses with a takedown attempt and Tai counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Koga's guard now. Koga looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Tai passes into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Tai works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Tai is trying to get an arm triangle but Koga is defending well. Koga is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Tai off and has taken his back! Tai just trying to survive but Koga is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Koga punishes Tai with strikes from the back mount. Koga controlling well, preventing Tai from escaping the position.
Koga has his arm under Tai's chin here. Game over son! Koga squeezes tightly and Tai is forced to tap out!
