Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cathail Murphy (ranked 22947 p4p, 622 weight class) and Brian Baggs (ranked 3668 p4p, 412 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cathail Murphy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Brian Baggs! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Sergei Dronov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Baggs looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Murphy uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Baggs.

Murphy dives in and grabs Baggs's left leg, looking for a takedown. Baggs pushes down on Murphy's head and hops out. Baggs only half commits to the counter leg kick. Baggs lands a glancing blow to the side of Murphy's head. A swing and a miss from Baggs. Murphy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Baggs is fending him off so far but Murphy persists. Nope, Baggs circles away and we're back to standing. Murphy tries for a takedown but Baggs sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cathail Murphy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Baggs throws a low kick but it's checked well by Murphy. Murphy is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Murphy has been working on his balance at CrossFit Sydney, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Baggs. Baggs misses with a looping left. Baggs throws a big shot that misses. Murphy ducks under a wild hook from Baggs. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Murphy displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Baggs throws out the jab. Brian Baggs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Baggs misses with a low kick.

Baggs leaves Murphy with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Murphy shoots in and bounces Baggs off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Baggs is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Murphy stands up and waves to Baggs to follow him. A punch lands to the side of Murphy 's head but he takes it in his stride.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Baggs takes a swing at Murphy's ribcage but misses. Murphy appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Baggs misses the jab. A combination from Baggs does no damage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Murphy shoots in but no luck this time. Murphy looking to score a takedown here. Baggs is defending well but Murphy drives through and ends up in Baggs's guard. Baggs controlling the position. Murphy trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Baggs has control of Murphy's left arm, preventing Murphy from doing any damage. Murphy stands up and waves to Baggs to follow him. Murphy shoots in but no luck this time. Murphy shoots for a takedown but Baggs saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Murphy closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Baggs gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Baggs holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Murphy controlling the action here. Murphy seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Baggs for as long as he can get away with. Baggs keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Baggs is staying active underneath Murphy, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Murphy works his way into side control. Baggs is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Murphy decides to stand back up. Murphy scores with a takedown into Baggs's guard. Murphy stops Baggs from standing up. Baggs being controlled here, momentarily. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Baggs can do anything to dispel that myth.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Murphy gets to his feet - Baggs follows without any prompting. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A left lands for Baggs. Baggs is looking to slow Murphy down with leg kicks. Murphy looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. A countering left hand to the body from Baggs misses. Murphy walks into a jab. Baggs digs a good body shot into Murphy's ribs. Murphy shoots in looking for a takedown. Baggs tries to sprawl out of it but Murphy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Baggs manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Baggs loads up on a big right hand but Murphy slips the punch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Murphy throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Baggs's waist but Baggs gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Murphy off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cathail Murphy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Baggs stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Baggs wants it to stay on the feet. Baggs unleashes a big counter combination but Murphy bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Nice shot by Baggs. Baggs throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Baggs scores with a nice strike.

Murphy tries to score a power double leg takedown but Baggs sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Murphy somewhat. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Murphy avoids a punch combination nicely.
No joy there for Baggs, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Nice takedown defense from Baggs. No joy for Murphy on that attempt. Baggs tries a low kick but Murphy avoids it. Baggs moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Baggs lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Baggs misses with a right hand and Murphy makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Baggs lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Murphy has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Murphy and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Baggs cracks the inside of Murphy's front leg. Murphy fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Baggs fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Murphy manages to avoid it. Murphy throwing a counter right hand but Baggs manages to avoid it. Baggs throws a hook but Murphy avoids it easily. Cathail Murphy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Murphy shoots in but Baggs avoids the takedown attempt easily. A little jabbing left from Baggs on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Murphy tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Baggs swivels and escapes. Murphy fails miserably with a takedown attempt. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Baggs slaps away a takedown attempt from Murphy, before circling back to the center of the mat. Baggs keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Baggs throws a nice looking combination but Murphy bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Baggs throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Murphy counters with a lovely straight right hand! Ouch! a nice leg kick from Baggs, right into the meat.
Baggs has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Murphy shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Murphy was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Baggs is trying to control Murphy's posture but Murphy avoids it. Baggs is looking to regain half guard here but Murphy keeps moving and retains side control. Baggs tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. Baggs is squirming around, avoiding Murphy's attempts to control the action. Baggs is desperately trying to improve his position but Murphy has a good base and remains in mount. Murphy is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Murphy tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Baggs, as that shot connected.
Murphy shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Baggs as he jumps to the side. Murphy fails with the takedown. Jab from Baggs. This has been an exciting period of action! Baggs lands a two punch combo.
Baggs is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Murphy moves out of range of the strikes. Baggs throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Murphy. Murphy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Baggs pinned against the cage. Baggs gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Baggs dips down and scores with a jab to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brian Baggs showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Baggs lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Murphy fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Murphy tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Baggs defends well and Murphy ends up having to push Baggs into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Baggs lands a body shot.

Murphy was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Baggs misses the shot to the body. As Baggs looks to move away, Murphy throws a big counter combo but Baggs just gets out of the way. Baggs misses with a body shot.
Baggs defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Murphy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cathail Murphy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Baggs will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

It looks like Cathail Murphy has been cut. Baggs takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Murphy dodges the punch combination from Baggs.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Baggs uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Murphy has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Baggs finds it's way round the side to connect with Murphy's head.

Baggs cracks Murphy with a right hand to the side of the head. Baggs throws a leg kick which misses Murphy's front leg but catches the back leg as Murphy tries to avoid it. Murphy with a lazy takedown attempt and Baggs counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Murphy is trying hard to land a takedown here. Baggs sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Baggs scores with a one two! Murphy had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Baggs with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Baggs is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Murphy. A combination from Baggs does no damage. Baggs scores with the left hand. Murphy knows he should have avoided that one. Murphy shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Baggs as he avoids it easily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Murphy fails with the takedown. Murphy looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Baggs fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Murphy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Baggs scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Baggs tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Murphy was well out of range. Poor timing from Baggs. Baggs misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Murphy.

A slow jab from Baggs misses its intended target. Murphy looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Murphy wants to control from the top but Baggs keeps moving. Cathail Murphy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Baggs seems keen to control Murphy's posture.
And that's the end of the fight! Brian Baggs comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Baggs winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
