Mengel is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: You Don't Wanna Get Herpes. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mengel is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Mengel has eaten all the pies!
Scorps slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Mengel got a little sloppy there for a moment and Scorps has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mengel has managed to get both his arms back between Scorps's legs - danger averted.

Mengel has gone for a leg lock! Scorps slips out almost immediately though and dives into Mengel's guard.

Scorps postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Mengel is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Scorps, into his guard.

Mengel drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mengel jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Mengel drops back looking for a leg! Scorps is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Scorps manages to kick Mengel off! Mengel jumps back into Scorps's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Scorps has control of Mengel's left arm, preventing Mengel from doing any damage.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

so Scorps counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Harry Mengel dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Mengel closes the distance and clinches up with Scorps, looking for a takedown. Mengel pushes Scorps against the cage but Scorps circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Scorps looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Mengel!

Scorps goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Mengel rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Scorps's guard! Nice work there by Mengel!
Mengel keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Scorps's head.
Scorps has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Scorps is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Mengel frees his head nicely. Oh but Scorps has switched to an armbar! Mengel is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
