Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Abdul Hakim Bafawuse (ranked 4341 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seung Woo Kim (ranked 5366 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Abdul Hakim Bafawuse! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Seung Woo Kim! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Reed Andrews and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kim fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Kim throws a shot to the body.
Kim fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bafawuse avoids it really well and circles away. The fight moves into the clinch position. Kim is looking for a takedown. Abdul Hakim Bafawuse has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Seung Woo Kim. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bafawuse pressing his opponent against the cage. Bafawuse gets control of Kim's arms and successfully pulls guard. Bafawuse will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bafawuse is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Kim trying to control but Bafawuse is working from the bottom. Bafawuse wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Kim looking to pass the guard. Kim trying to control the position from guard on top but Bafawuse is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Bafawuse wants to sweep but no luck. Kim is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Bafawuse escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kim gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Bafawuse working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kim. Kim being controlled here momentarily.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. A momentary lapse in concentration from Kim enables Bafawuse to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kim manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kim tries to strike from the bottom.
Kim wants to get back to his feet but Bafawuse is in a dominant position and won't allow it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kim tries to land a sweep but no joy. Bafawuse gets to his feet - Kim follows without any prompting. Kim gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Bafawuse to score an easy takedown into full guard. Bafawuse throws an elbow that misses. Kim uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bafawuse's guard. Nice move by Kim!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bafawuse wants to stand and escape but Kim is having none of it. Bafawuse not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Kim tries to stand but Bafawuse is controlling from the bottom. Bafawuse knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kim on the ground. Bafawuse keeping moving, preventing Kim from controlling successfully. Bafawuse doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Bafawuse keeping moving, preventing Kim from controlling successfully. Bafawuse lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Abdul Hakim Bafawuse dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Kim tries to sprawl but Bafawuse drives through with a takedown into half guard. Kim has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bafawuse is working away from the top position though. Kim is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Bafawuse is staying active. Bafawuse stalling. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kim wants to improve his position but Bafawuse is controlling well.
Bafawuse not landing any meaningful shots this time. Bafawuse is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kim can do to turn this around?
That's one minute gone in the round. Kim is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bafawuse's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bafawuse's back! Bafawuse trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Kim has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Bafawuse can't escape the position.
Bafawuse trying to control the hands but Kim breaks the grip. Bafawuse is holding onto Kim's left hand, preventing any choke attempts. Kim wants to control but Bafawuse is keeping busy. Bafawuse just trying to survive but Kim is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kim looking for the choke but no joy. Bafawuse wants to control his opponent's hands but Kim gets his hands free. Bafawuse tries to break free.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kim is cranking Bafawuse's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Bafawuse! He's tightened the choke and Bafawuse is tapping out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Seung Woo Kim!
