Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rafe Barrientos (ranked 1282 p4p, 170 weight class) and Jon Snitch (ranked 1192 p4p, 156 weight class). Snitch has chosen I Wanna Rock as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rafe Barrientos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Snitch! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barrientos moves out of range of the strikes. Barrientos tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Snitch defends well and Barrientos ends up having to push Snitch into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Rafe Barrientos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Snitch wants to clinch up but Barrientos keeps it at a distance. Barrientos closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Snitch's guard. Snitch is controlling Barrientos's posture. Barrientos works over Snitch with some ground and pound from guard. Snitch has Barrientos pulled in close to control his posture. Barrientos is looking to work some ground and pound but Snitch has wrist control. Snitch is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Snitch looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Snitch is looking to stand up but Barrientos isn't so interested in that idea. Barrientos won't allow Snitch to sweep him here.

Barrientos is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Snitch defends well. Snitch is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Snitch's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Barrientos trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Snitch sitting in guard here, content to control. Barrientos looking to hit a scissor sweep but Snitch is one step ahead there. Snitch trying to control the position from guard on top but Barrientos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Barrientos is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Snitch passes to side control. Snitch lands a nice forearm strike. Barrientos tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Snitch wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Snitch controls the position from side control. Barrientos is looking for a sweep. Barrientos is working hard here to advance position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Snitch moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Barrientos is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Snitch is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Snitch controlling from the full mount. It looks like Snitch might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Barrientos keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Snitch tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jon Snitch will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Barrientos. Barrientos throws a body punch but Snitch moves out of range. Snitch with the counter takedown but Barrientos avoids it easily. Snitch throws the left hand but Barrientos avoids the punch easily. Snitch closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Barrientos quickly recovers to half guard. Barrientos is staying active underneath Snitch, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Barrientos is trying to get back to full guard. Snitch sitting and controlling from the half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barrientos looking for submissions from an awkward position here. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Barrientos is looking for a sweep. Snitch controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Barrientos tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. Snitch controlling the pace for now. Snitch has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Barrientos tries to hold on but Snitch postures up. Barrientos manages to regain half guard. Good work. Barrientos is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Snitch pulls his head out easily. Barrientos looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Jon Snitch has got the better of the ground game so far. Snitch trying to control the pace. Barrientos looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barrientos has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Snitch is working away from the top position though. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Snitch in particular looking to stall. Barrientos looking for submissions off his back. Snitch is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Barrientos trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!

Jon Snitch showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

The referee will try and keep them active though. Barrientos is trying to get back to half guard. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Snitch wants to lay and pray for a moment but Barrientos keeps working. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Snitch working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well. Snitch takes a little break here. Barrientos wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Barrientos dives in and grabs Snitch's left leg, looking for a takedown. Snitch pushes down on Barrientos's head and hops out. Horrible takedown attempt by Barrientos or perhaps it was just good defense by Snitch, which made it look bad. Barrientos throws a lazy right hand but Snitch sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Barrientos slips under a jab. Barrientos feinted with a counter takedown. Barrientos looking to score a takedown here. Snitch is defending well but Barrientos drives through and ends up in Snitch's guard. Snitch is controlling Barrientos's posture. Snitch is trying to keep Barrientos in close.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Snitch is pulling down on Barrientos's head. It's preventing any offense from Barrientos, at least for the moment. Barrientos is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Barrientos pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Snitch is keeping the position for now. Snitch wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Snitch is trying to control the position from the bottom.

And that's the end of the fight! Jon Snitch comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Snitch has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction. In defeat, Rafe Barrientos stepped up to the mic, saying 'Fuck you. Suck this dick!'.
