PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Julius Biacolo (ranked 3096 p4p, 353 weight class) and Alex Sunchez (ranked 2850 p4p, 333 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Alex Sunchez was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 1, fighting out of New York, Julius Biacolo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alex Sunchez!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Reed Andrews and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Biacolo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Biacolo fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Sunchez shoots in and drives through. Biacolo sprawls well.
It looked like Biacolo was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Biacolo misses with a jab, cross combination.

Biacolo closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Sunchez did well to prevent Biacolo getting side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

We've been informed that Sunchez has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sunchez tries to reverse the position but Biacolo maintains control.

Biacolo has picked Sunchez up - he's going for a ride! Biacolo dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Biacolo wants to work for an arm triangle but Sunchez is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Biacolo is taking a breather. Sunchez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Julius Biacolo is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Biacolo uses his free foot to push down on Sunchez's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Sunchez.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Biacolo's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Julius Biacolo seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
The defeated Alex Sunchez had this to say: 'I knew that winning this fight will be hard. And loosing this fight is not end of my career, i promise to be back in future fights better. I apologise to all my fans but next time i wont let you guys down. I need a rematch......'.
