Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ronaldo Souza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Marko Weider!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Donald Grub and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Souza looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Weider looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Weider has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Souza is working away from the top position though.
Souza wants to lay and pray for a moment but Weider keeps working.

Souza is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Weider doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Souza.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Weider is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Weider is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Souza pulls his head out easily.
Souza content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Weider is staying active underneath Souza, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Souza wants to pass the guard but Weider is defending well.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Weider looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Weider regains full guard. Nicely done.
Souza throws a strike but Weider rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Weider trying to control the position from guard on top but Souza is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Weider is pushing down on Souza's leg trying to pass to half guard. Souza is fighting to maintain full guard but Weider has managed to sneak the leg through.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Weider looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Weider is working for a kimura but Souza is defending it quite comfortably.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marko Weider dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Souza lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Weider circles away quickly and effectively.
A combination from Weider does no damage.
Souza misses the shot to the body.
And Weider tries to counter it with a takedown but Souza pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Weider throws a right hand that Souza ducks under and follows up with a left that Souza also avoids with ease.

Souza manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Weider on his heels. He'll look to pass Weider's guard now, I'm sure.

Souza avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Weider is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Weider looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Souza wants to pass the guard but Weider is keeping the position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Weider is on top in guard.

Weider is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Souza is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Souza has escaped and now he's on top!


Souza is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Weider has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Souza is looking to defend but Weider has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Souza! Weider pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Souza taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Marko Weider!
