Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Oswaldo Jarvis (ranked 23407 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bred Ast (ranked 6322 p4p, 0 weight class). Bred Ast will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Oswaldo Jarvis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bred Ast! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Edson Gomes and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jarvis takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Ast lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Ast drives through and clinches with Jarvis against the cage.
Ast jumps guard but Jarvis stands there with Ast around his waist. Ast gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Ast keeps control of Jarvis as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Ast throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Jarvis blocks it with crossed arms. Jarvis tries to land a knee to the head but Ast blocks with his arms.
Jarvis has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Ast regains guard immediately. Ast controls Jarvis momentarily but Jarvis frees himself. Jarvis trying to stand up but can't free himself from Ast's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ast is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Ast trying to keep a closed guard but Jarvis is proving a slippery customer.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ast has a closed guard, preventing Jarvis from standing up. Jarvis lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Ast wants to get back to his feet but Jarvis is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Ast looks winded! Jarvis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ast works some decent striking defense from the bottom. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Jarvis working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Jarvis decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ast, up you get! Ast fails to land the takedown. That's two minutes gone in the round. Ast pushes Jarvis up against the cage in a clinch. Jarvis could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Jarvis is trying to break the clinch but Ast is controlling him. Jarvis pushes off an throws an elbow but Ast leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Jarvis tries for a takedown. No joy.
Jarvis turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Jarvis manages to end up in side control. Jarvis lands some shots froms side control. Jarvis stands up and we're back to a striking position. Jarvis is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Bred Ast seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jarvis wants to clinch.

Ast lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Jarvis stuffs the takedown attempt from Ast. Ast gets slowly back to his feet. Ast shoots for a double leg takedown but Jarvis sprawls well. He's pushed Ast's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Jarvis moves into the clinch. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jarvis connects with a nice short shot to Ast's temple. Jarvis tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Jarvis with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Jarvis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Jarvis decides to return to a standing position.

Ast misses with a takedown attempt - Jarvis sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Jarvis is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Ast wants to hit a switch here but Jarvis passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Ast there! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jarvis lands a couple of good shots and Ast has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
And that's the end of the fight! Oswaldo Jarvis showed his dominance in that final round. Well Jarvis has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
