Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jim Samson (ranked 4670 p4p, 441 weight class) and Allen Kenneth (ranked 7076 p4p, 513 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jim Samson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Allen Kenneth! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Paul Aken and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kenneth is looking to clinch but Samson is avoiding it.
Samson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Samson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Kenneth uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Kenneth fails in his attempt to clinch. Samson slaps away a takedown attempt from Kenneth, before circling back to the center of the mat. Kenneth fails with a takedown attempt. Kenneth has closed the distance and engaged Samson in a clinch.
Kenneth pulls guard effortlessly. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Samson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Samson lands a couple of elbows.

Kenneth has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Samson is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Kenneth pulls Samson into guard.

There ya go! There ya go! Samson looking to sit in guard and control but Kenneth gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Kenneth tries to free his leg and advance position but Samson is retaining full guard. Samson pulls Kenneth in close to prevent any damage. Kenneth controlling from the top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Samson has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Kenneth has passed into side control.

That's five minutes gone in the round. Kenneth stands up and we're back to a striking position. Kenneth shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Samson but Samson pushes him off and we're back to square one. Jim Samson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Allen Kenneth. Samson stuffs the takedown attempt from Kenneth. Kenneth gets slowly back to his feet. No luck for Kenneth with that takedown attempt. It looked like Samson was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Samson tries a head kick but it misses.

Kenneth shoots in looking for a takedown. Samson tries to sprawl out of it but Kenneth keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Samson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Kenneth shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Samson pinned against the cage. Samson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. As Kenneth looks to move away, Samson throws a big counter combo but Kenneth just gets out of the way. Kenneth has his takedown stuffed and Samson counters with a series of strikes. Kenneth will be more careful next time no doubt. Samson misses with a series of wild punches.

Samson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. The fighters circling - Samson throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Samson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Samson lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Samson pushes Kenneth away with a front kick. No joy there for Kenneth, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
As Kenneth tries to get set, Samson tries to push him back and clinch up but Kenneth manages to avoid the attempt. Samson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kenneth manages to avoid it. Kenneth tries for a takedown but Samson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Samson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kenneth moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Samson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Kenneth counters with a left to the body.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Samson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kenneth shoots in looking for a takedown but Samson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kenneth's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Samson changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Samson scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Samson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kenneth swats him away and circles back towards the center. Kenneth shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Samson pinned against the cage. Samson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Samson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kenneth. Kenneth shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Samson changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Kenneth misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Samson's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Samson duly obliges.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Samson feints and then cracks Kenneth's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kenneth down. Kenneth cracks Samson with an open hand slap. Kenneth has Samson up against the cage in a clinch.
Kenneth is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Samson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's four minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Horrible takedown attempt by Kenneth or perhaps it was just good defense by Samson, which made it look bad. Kenneth tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Samson swivels and escapes. Samson stuffs the takedown. Samson moves into range and clinches up with Kenneth. Samson has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Kenneth regains guard immediately. Kenneth is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Samson postures up in Kenneth's guard and throws a big left but Kenneth blocks it. Samson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Kenneth looking to pass the guard. Allen Kenneth has got the better of the ground game so far. Kenneth advances position into side control! Samson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Kenneth remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Kenneth working the body and head with strikes. Samson regains half guard there - taking advantage of Kenneth's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Kenneth is keen to just control but Samson is a slippery customer.

Kenneth takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Kenneth is trying to control. Kenneth is the more experienced fighter here and he's going to need to draw on some of that experience if he's going to pull this one out the bag. Samson is looking to escape.
