The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

I was talking to Floyd's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Floyd gets underhooks to prevent Di Lodovico's takedown attempt.

Floyd lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Di Lodovico.

Di Lodovico has hold of one of Floyd's legs. Floyd is fighting the takedown attempt but Di Lodovico gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Di Lodovico is stalling in the full guard.
Floyd looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Di Lodovico puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Floyd tries to get to full guard but Di Lodovico has control of the leg.

Di Lodovico looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Di Lodovico is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Floyd is just riding it out for now. Di Lodovico eventually gives up the hold.
Floyd knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Di Lodovico on the ground.

Di Lodovico is looking for a kimura but Floyd is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Di Lodovico to get the leverage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Floyd tries to improve his position but Di Lodovico has taken his back! Di Lodovico has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Floyd tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Di Lodovico pushes Floyd away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
