Coming up we have a welterweight kickboxing rules bout between Tonaka Watawaka (ranked 4973 p4p, 515 weight class) and Sam Spencer (ranked 21547 p4p, 634 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Watawaka might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Native American Flute & Drums. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sam Spencer! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Daniel Cesar and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spencer tries to keep at a distance but Watawaka has taken the fight into the clinch. Watawaka stalling in the clinch.
Spencer blocks a body shot from Watawaka. Spencer is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes. Watawaka misses with the head strike.

Watawaka's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Spencer manages to break the clinch.
Spencer stalks Watawaka and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Watawaka's face. Watawaka staggers backwards, shaken. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Watawaka is looking to clinch but Spencer is avoiding it.
Spencer throws a right and a left that Watawaka avoids nicely. Watawaka moves away from the strike by Spencer. Watawaka needs to keep his hands up - Spencer had a free shot at his head there. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Watawaka rushes Spencer and presses him up against the ropes. Spencer blocks an uppercut.

Spencer smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Spencer has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Watawaka is landing a low percentage of strikes. Spencer cracks Watawaka with a right hand to the side of the head. Spencer throws a wild body kick that Watawaka sees coming a mile off. Watawaka tries to close the distance and clinch but Spencer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Watawaka ducks under a wild hook from Spencer. Spencer displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Spencer buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Watawaka shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Spencer loads up on a big right hand but Watawaka slips the punch. A swing and a miss from Spencer. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Watawaka crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Spencer - the referee stops the clock and Watawaka gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Spencer. Watawaka manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Spencer looks to land a body kick but Watawaka moved away. Spencer throws a hook to the side of Watawaka's head but Watawaka sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Watawaka clinches with his opponent.

Spencer throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Watawaka with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Spencer to score with a decent uppercut. Spencer keeps the fight on the outside. Watawaka tries to clinch there but Spencer circles away.

Watawaka closes the distance but Spencer moves to the side and Spencer makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Tonaka Watawaka has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Spencer throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Watawaka on the side of the head. In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Sam Spencer! A relieved looking Sam Spencer thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. Tonaka Watawaka spoke after the fight, saying 'Why don't you let me tie a piece of moose meat around your neck and let my dogs chase yah? Let's see what happens then!'.
