Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Salazar (ranked 888 p4p, 131 weight class) and Sam McCullen (ranked 669 p4p, 107 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying McCullen's choice of entrance music: The Foggy Dew. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Salazar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 12 - 1, fighting out of London, Sam McCullen!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salazar throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
McCullen is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Salazar just misses with a punch to the body.
Salazar misses with an uppercut. McCullen saw that one coming.
Salazar throws a leg kick but McCullen sees it coming and moves out of range.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that McCullen has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! McCullen crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Salazar - the referee stops the clock and McCullen gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Salazar. McCullen manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

McCullen lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

It seemed like McCullen was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

That was a close second round but I would say that Michael Salazar will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!

I would just about give that final round to Sam McCullen.
Well Salazar has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
