Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Akbar Shah (ranked 4627 p4p, 0 weight class) and Evan Grantham (ranked 6678 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Akbar Shah! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Evan Grantham! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Aafke Stam and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grantham shoots in looking for a takedown but Shah manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Grantham's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Shah works Grantham's body with a nice hook. Shah misses with a wild combination.
Shah throws a one two combo.
It looks like Evan Grantham has been cut. Shah throws a one two combo.
Grantham tries for a takedown but Shah circles away easily and Shah makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Grantham comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Grantham walks into a jab. Akbar Shah seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Shah fails to land with a series of punches.
No luck for Grantham with that takedown attempt. As Grantham looks to move away, Shah throws a big counter combo but Grantham just gets out of the way. Akbar Shah has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Evan Grantham. Nice sprawl there from Shah as Grantham shoots in. Left hook, right uppercut from Shah. Grantham shoots in for a takedown but Shah shows good takedown defense.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shah uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Grantham.
Grantham is sent reeling backwards by a solid uppercut. He barely regains his balance and Shah moves in for the kill throwing a continuous barrage of punches that force the ref to step in.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Akbar Shah! Our winner, Akbar Shah, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
