Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nick Morris (ranked 81 p4p, 12 weight class) and Tud Stoddler (ranked 290 p4p, 39 weight class). Stoddler has chosen Arcade Fire - Ready to Start as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nick Morris! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tud Stoddler! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Good exchange - Stoddler coming out on top. Morris connects with an inside leg kick. Stoddler moves out of range of the strikes. Morris keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Morris fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Stoddler is out of range. Stoddler throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Nick Morris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Stoddler misses with a left hand and Morris counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Stoddler throws out a powerful jab. Morris misses with a straight right. Nice uppercut lands for Stoddler. That snapped Morris's head back.
Stoddler scores with a hook. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Stoddler chopping away at his opponent's legs.
A punch lands to the side of Stoddler 's head but he takes it in his stride. Morris connects with a single shot there. Morris checks the leg kick nicely there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Morris does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Stoddler tries a quick counter leg kick but Morris is wise to it. Stoddler lands a jab to Morris's midsection. Morris scores with a jab. Stoddler acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Morris looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Morris with a jab. Morris connects with a solid leg kick. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Morris.
The fighters circling - Stoddler throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Morris is looking to slow Stoddler down with leg kicks. Stoddler ducks under a wild hook from Morris. Stoddler looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Stoddler misses with a straight left. Stoddler throws a lazy right hand but Morris sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Stoddler swings away with a leg kick that misses. Morris on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Stoddler looks to throw the jab but Morris is out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Morris misses with a wild body shot. Morris thumps Stoddler with a low kick. Stoddler lands a right hook to the body.
An inside leg kick from Morris misses. Stoddler moves out of range of the body kick. A punch combination from Stoddler misses. Morris looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. Stoddler pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Stoddler throws a low kick but Morris moves out of range easily. A big right from Morris misses. Stoddler thuds his shin into the meat of Morris's side. Stoddler moves to clinch but Morris breaks away and Stoddler takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Stoddler throws a wild body kick that Morris sees coming a mile off.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stoddler blocks a jab. Morris connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Stoddler is rocked! Stoddler walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Stoddler limp body while Morris jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Nick Morris! Nick Morris retains his lightweight title! Nick Morris decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
