The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trevino shoots for a double leg takedown but Davies sprawls well. He's pushed Trevino's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Trevino looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Chuck Davies seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Davies slaps away a takedown attempt from Trevino, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Davies shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Davies was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Davies remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Davies has Trevino pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Davies pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Trevino tumbling to the mat - Davies dives into Trevino's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Trevino throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Davies's waist but Davies gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Trevino off to one side.
Davies keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Davies feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Trevino knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Davies on the ground.
Davies slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

You get the feeling that Trevino really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Davies postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Trevino in real trouble here! The ref calls for Trevino to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
