Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Oscar Larraza (ranked 3676 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ahmad Lazzez (ranked 3647 p4p, 388 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Russell Pearce and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lazzez blocks a head kick by Larraza.
Lazzez shoots in for a double leg but Larraza sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Larraza avoids a punch combination nicely.

Larraza gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Larraza has had enough of the clinch but Lazzez keeps him there for the moment.

Larraza is looking to break free of the clinch but Lazzez has double underhooks.
Lazzez tries to pull guard but Larraza won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lazzez drops down looking for an ankle pick but Larraza pulls his leg out and moves away.

Lazzez has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Larraza is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Larraza's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Larraza is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Lazzez has managed to free his arm - good work.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Larraza thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Larraza wants to stand and escape but Lazzez is having none of it.

Lazzez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Larraza has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lazzez has managed to get both his arms back between Larraza's legs - danger averted.

Larraza working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lazzez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lazzez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Larraza wants to stand and escape but Lazzez is having none of it.

Larraza is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lazzez can do to turn this around?

Lazzez drops back, looking for a kneebar! Larraza looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Larraza looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Larraza!
