The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

MacFarlane ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
MacFarlane lands with a straight right. Gruzdev didn't see that one coming.

Gruzdev lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Some bone on bone action there as MacFarlane checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
It looked like MacFarlane was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Gruzdev.
Gruzdev avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
MacFarlane has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

MacFarlane dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Gruzdev. That did some damage!

Gruzdev fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but MacFarlane is out of range.
Gruzdev's hands are dropping dangerously low here and MacFarlane connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Gruzdev scrambles back to his feet.

MacFarlane is rocked!
MacFarlane takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Oh MacFarlane is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Gruzdev cracks MacFarlane with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends MacFarlane tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Gruzdev pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! MacFarlane is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alexander Gruzdev!
Alexander Gruzdev decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
Rian MacFarlane was interviewed post fight and said 'Sorry guys everything is still fuzzy... but I think he tapped out... so it is what it is... who am I again?'.
