Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Johnson ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Johnathon Krislee! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Aafke Stam and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson shoots in but no luck this time. Johnson takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Krislee. No joy there for Johnson , who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Krislee throws a counter combo. Johnson rushes Krislee and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Krislee is trying to pull guard but Johnson has him pressed against the cage. Krislee is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Johnson is defending well. Jon Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnathon Krislee. Johnson is trying to break the clinch but Krislee has him pressed against the cage. Johnson tries for a takedown but Krislee manages to get underhooks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Krislee successfully pulls guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Krislee wants to sweep here but Johnson controlling him for the moment. Krislee keeping moving, preventing Johnson from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Krislee working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Johnson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Johnson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Krislee has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Johnson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Johnson stands and throws Krislee's legs to the side, diving into side control. Johnson is looking to take a break and control but Krislee is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Krislee is looking to regain half guard here but Johnson keeps moving and retains side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Johnson is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Krislee is trying to escape and Johnson transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Krislee is forced to tap! Nice work there by Johnson ! Very nice indeed!
