Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Edward Blake (ranked 1960 p4p, 269 weight class) and Mako Akumba (ranked 1703 p4p, 233 weight class). Blake comes to the cage accompanied by Cry of the Blackbirds. Akumba has chosen Sitting in Limbo as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blake looks to throw the jab but Akumba is out of range.

Akumba needs to keep his hands up - Blake had a free shot at his head there.
Blake misses with a double jab
and Akumba counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Blake really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Blake on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Akumba, as that shot connected.

Edward Blake seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Blake ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Akumba moves away.

Blake misses with a jab, cross combination.
Akumba misses with a lunging right hand
and Blake counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That has opened up Mako Akumba's cut even more.
This has been an exciting period of action!

enabling Akumba to counter with a crisp jab.

and Akumba counters with a left to the body.
Akumba moves into the clinch successfully.
Akumba escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Akumba ducks under a wild hook from Blake.
Akumba takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Mako Akumba will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Blake throws the left hand but Akumba avoids the punch easily.
Akumba follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Akumba throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Mako Akumba seems to be getting the better of the standup.

and Akumba counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Akumba throws out a loose jab but Blake uses good head movement to avoid it.

and Blake counters with an outside leg kick.

Akumba takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Blake throws an overhand right that lands on Akumba's shoulder, as Akumba tries to avoid the shot.

Blake tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

and Blake counters with a nice leg kick.
Blake fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Akumba looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Blake misses the jab.
Akumba throws a leg kick but Blake sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Blake misses with a low kick.
Blake backing away here, and Akumba unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Blake lands with an uppercut that bounces Akumba off the cage and back into range.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Blake fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Akumba to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Akumba looks to clinch but Blake throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Akumba taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
