Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pablo Ayers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Miguel Cunha! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Felipe Paraventi and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cunha with a lazy takedown attempt and Ayers counters with a big head kick but Cunha shrugs it off. Cunha shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ayers as he avoids it easily. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Cunha.
Cunha misses with a kick to the body and Ayers counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Cunha tries to get to full guard but Ayers has control of the leg. Ayers wants to get back to his feet.
Cunha avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Ayers. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ayers takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Ayers throwing shots but Cunha is blocking nicely. Ayers lands strikes from half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cunha flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Cunha moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ayers is looking to stand up but Cunha won't let him. Ayers working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Cunha has his feet on Ayers's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Cunha fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ayers avoids it really well and circles away. Ayers is looking for a counter combo. Pablo Ayers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Miguel Cunha. Ayers changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cunha tries to avoid it but Ayers manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cunha to the ground. Cunha escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Cunha is defended easily by Ayers.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ayers with a body punch. A glancing blow. Cunha tries to sprawl but Ayers drives through with a takedown into half guard. Cunha has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Ayers is on him like a limpet, forcing Cunha back against the cage. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Cunha tries to pull guard but Ayers forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Cunha wants to take the fight to the mat but Ayers manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Cunha looks winded! Ayers is looking to take this one to the mat. Ayers is trying to pull guard but Cunha turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Ayers could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Ayers manages to pull guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cunha passes Ayers's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Ayers moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Ayers trying to control the position here. Ayers manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cunha manages to get himself to full guard.
Ayers stands up over Cunha, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Ayers lands a couple of decent looking shots.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cunha bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ayers's guard. Ayers trying to keep a closed guard but Cunha is proving a slippery customer.
Cunha looking to pass the guard. Ayers keeping moving, preventing Cunha from controlling successfully. Cunha trying to stand up but can't free himself from Ayers's guard. Cunha wants to pass the guard but Ayers is keeping the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Pablo Ayers will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Cunha shoots and misses and Ayers counters with a lovely straight right hand! Cunha fails with a takedown attempt. Cunha shoots in but no luck this time. Pablo Ayers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Miguel Cunha. Cunha gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Ayers tries to break free but Cunha pushes him back against the cage. Ayers wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Cunha pulls guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ayers throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Ayers is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Cunha is breathing heavily. Ayers throwing strikes from guard but Cunha blocks nicely. Ayers with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ayers landing some decent shots from guard. Cunha is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Ayers breaks the clinch.
Ayers misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Pablo Ayers is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ayers ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Ayers dives in for a single leg takedown but Cunha sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Cunha gets a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ayers jumps guard but Cunha stands there with Ayers around his waist. Ayers gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Cunha successfully pulls guard.
Cunha looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Cunha controls Ayers momentarily but Ayers frees himself. Ayers connects with a couple of short punches. Cunha working for a triangle but Ayers defends it easily.
Ayers stands and steps away. Cunha gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cunha shoots for a double leg takedown but Ayers sprawls well. He's pushed Cunha's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Ayers darts in looking for a takedown but Cunha gets double underhooks and turns Ayers into the cage. Ayers gets a clinch. Ayers manages to break the clinch.
Cunha moves into range and clinches up with Ayers. Ayers pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Ayers takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Cunha shoots for a double leg takedown but Ayers sprawls well. He's pushed Cunha's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Cunha leaves Ayers with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ayers closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Ayers is putting a hurting on Cunha here, landing some big shots from side control. Miguel Cunha has got the better of the ground game so far. Ayers in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. An elbow from Ayers crashes against the mat.
Ayers decides to take the fight back to the feet. Ayers dives in for a single leg takedown but Cunha sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Cunha tries to counter with a clinch but Ayers shakes him off and moves away. Ayers shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Ayers was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Cunha parries the strikes from Ayers easily there. Ayers is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Cunha to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Pablo Ayers will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Cunha wants to pass the guard but Ayers is keeping the position. Ayers is controlling Cunha's posture. Ayers wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Cunha is now in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ayers is trying to maintain the position but Cunha is very close to passing his half guard. Cunha thows a huge punch but Ayers dodges it nicely.
Ayers tries to roll over but Cunha keeps him under control. Cunha trying to control the pace. Cunha wants to pass to mount but Ayers is defending the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cunha slows the pace down in half guard. Cunha wants to take a breather but Ayers is having none of it.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Ayers drives through with a takedown into guard. Ayers wants to stand but Cunha has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Cunha controlling Ayers's posture.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ayers postures up.
Cunha throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Cunha wants to sweep but no luck. Ayers wanted to stand there but Cunha had control of the position. Ayers lands a couple of digs. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ayers got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cunha has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ayers has managed to get both his arms back between Cunha's legs - danger averted. Ayers distracts Cunha with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Miguel Cunha. I think Ayers has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
