Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ike Tronstone (ranked 246 p4p, 11 weight class) and Samson Goldstein (ranked 581 p4p, 15 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ike Tronstone!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 53 - 25 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Samson Goldstein!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Alyssa Summers and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left lands for Tronstone.
Samson Goldstein seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tronstone avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A punch lands to the side of Goldstein 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Goldstein staying out of range there.
Goldstein wants to land a leg kick but Tronstone is out of range.
Tronstone throws a big counter combination but Goldstein scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Goldstein on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Goldstein avoids a punch combination nicely.
Goldstein looks to score with a jab to the body but Tronstone is just out of range.
Goldstein tries to clinch up
and Tronstone counters with a nice low kick that buckles Goldstein's knee momentarily.
Goldstein tries to close the distance and clinch but Tronstone swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Tronstone attempts a counter takedown but Goldstein avoids it well and moves away.

Goldstein moves into the clinch.
Tronstone has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Goldstein is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Tronstone goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Tronstone blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Tronstone blocks an uppercut.
A short left from Goldstein.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Tronstone lands a left hand.

Tronstone manages to break the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Goldstein closes the distance and clinches.
Goldstein misses with the head strike.
Still in the clinch, Tronstone scores with a nice short uppercut.
Goldstein misses with a short punch on the inside.
Goldstein tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
I was talking to Tronstone's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Tronstone pulls guard effortlessly.
Goldstein trying to control but Tronstone is working from the bottom.
Tronstone wants to stand up but Goldstein is controlling him.
Tronstone has momentary wrist control but Goldstein slips an elbow through the middle.
Tronstone is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Tronstone tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Goldstein throws a big elbow that misses.
Goldstein trying to control but Tronstone is working from the bottom.
Tronstone is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Goldstein is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tronstone wants to sweep here but Goldstein controlling him for the moment.
Tronstone keeping moving, preventing Goldstein from controlling successfully.
Goldstein slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Goldstein closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Goldstein lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Tronstone backwards.
Tronstone pushes Goldstein back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Tronstone blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Tronstone decides to pull guard.
Tronstone looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Goldstein is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Tronstone is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Goldstein has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Tronstone to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Goldstein is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Tronstone pulls down on the head and he's put Goldstein to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Ike Tronstone!
