PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lynn Steinheiser (ranked 1013 p4p, 140 weight class) and Emanuel Rodrigez (ranked 2507 p4p, 307 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lynn Steinheiser!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 20 - 0, fighting out of New York, Emanuel Rodrigez!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Lou da Vinci and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rodrigez closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rodrigez lands in his opponent's guard.
Rodrigez looking to sit in guard and control but Steinheiser gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Rodrigez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Steinheiser is controlling him.

Rodrigez controls Steinheiser momentarily but Steinheiser frees himself.

Rodrigez might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Steinheiser haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Steinheiser is pulling down on Rodrigez's head to control his posture.
Rodrigez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Steinheiser swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rodrigez wants to control from the top but Steinheiser keeps moving.
Steinheiser pulls Rodrigez in close to his closed guard and prevents Rodrigez from doing any damage or advancing position.

Steinheiser drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Steinheiser throws an elbow that misses. Rodrigez uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Steinheiser's guard. Nice move by Rodrigez!

Steinheiser wants to control but Rodrigez is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Steinheiser is controlling Rodrigez's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Steinheiser has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rodrigez is working away from the top position though.

and Steinheiser decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rodrigez's guard.
Steinheiser throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rodrigez works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Steinheiser accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Rodrigez is pulling down on Steinheiser's head. It's preventing any offense from Steinheiser, at least for the moment.

We've been hearing that Steinheiser has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

That was a close second round but I would say that Lynn Steinheiser will probably get the nod.

Steinheiser has Rodrigez pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Rodrigez manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Rodrigez has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Steinheiser is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Rodrigez has clasped his hands together around Steinheiser's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Rodrigez remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Rodrigez has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Emanuel Rodrigez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Rodrigez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

During a confident post fight interview, Emanuel Rodrigez thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
Lynn Steinheiser was interviewed post fight and said 'I'm calling for a review of this fight! This faggot kept sticking his finger in my asshole!!! Who the hell can fight effectively while getting fingered in their asshole??? I did not like that at all ... though it felt good, but that is besides the point! A distraction is a DISTRACTION!!! '.
