Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kareem Clark! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Quim Pinto! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Chris Edwards and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Clark forces Pinto back against the cage and clinches. Clark blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Clark tries to score a body lock takedown but Pinto shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Pinto's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Clark bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Clark tries to clinch up but Pinto circles away and keeps his distance. Pinto tries a quick counter leg kick but Clark is wise to it. Clark swings for the body but Pinto moves out of range.
Kareem Clark seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Clark gets a clinch. Pinto tries to break free but Clark pushes him back against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Clark with a knee to the head.
Clark blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Clark pulls guard effortlessly. Clark managing to control the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Clark moves in looking to clinch but Pinto pushes him off. Pinto throws out a counter right but Clark avoids it with no problem. Clark tries to clinch there but Pinto circles away.
Clark really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Clark gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Pinto tries to break the clinch but Clark is controlling the position. Pinto is trying to force a seperation but Clark has the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Clark has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Pinto is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Clark keeps control of Pinto as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Pinto looks winded! Pinto breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. The fight moves into the clinch position. Pinto is trying to break the clinch but Clark has him pressed against the cage. Pinto looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Pinto has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Clark is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Clark breaks the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Clark connects with a nasty looking knee right to Pinto's face.

That's one minute gone in the round. Clark gets in close and instigates a clinch. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Clark. Clark misses with a knee strike.
Clark drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Pinto gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Pinto is pushing Clark up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Pinto just misses with a elbow thrown towards Clark's brow. Pinto is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Clark is defending well. Clark with a knee to the head.

Clark is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Pinto can do to turn this around?

Pinto is trying to break the clinch but Clark has him pressed against the cage. Clark pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Pinto takes one on the button. Clark tries to clinch up. Pinto darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Some wild striking there from Pinto.
The fight stays on the outside here - Clark looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Clark throws a sloppy head kick and Pinto moves out of range easily. Clark fails in his attempt to clinch. Clark tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pinto paws at him with a jab and circles away. Clark drives through and clinches with Pinto against the cage.

Kareem Clark has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Quim Pinto. Clark landing knees to the head.
Clark stalls. Pinto wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. We've been informed that Pinto has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A short uppercut from Clark. Clark pushes Pinto back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Pinto is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Clark gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Clark jumps guard and drags Pinto to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Clark looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Pinto being controlled here momentarily. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Clark has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Clark fails in his attempt to clinch. Pinto appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Pinto looks like he wants to counter punch here. Pinto throws a hook but Clark blocks it. Clark looks to clinch letting Pinto counter with a right hand. Pinto throws the left hand but Clark avoids the punch easily. Quim Pinto seems to be getting the better of the standup. Clark closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Clark on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Clark is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Clark is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Pinto looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Pinto tries to break free but Clark pushes him back against the cage. Clark fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Clark tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Pinto avoids it. Clark lands a nice elbow. Pinto is trying to force a seperation but Clark has the dominant position. Pinto wants to get back to striking at distance but Clark won't allow it.
Pinto has had enough of the clinch but Clark keeps him there for the moment. Clark jumps guard and drags Pinto to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Clark is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Clark pulls Pinto in close to his closed guard and prevents Pinto from doing any damage or advancing position. Clark tries to land a sweep but no joy. Clark is adopting a defensive guard. Clark is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Clark has his hands on Pinto's head, controlling the position. Clark looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Pinto throws a hook to the side of Clark's head but Clark sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Quim Pinto has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kareem Clark is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Clark closes the distance looking to clinch and Pinto counters with a lovely straight right hand!
