Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mathew Yang (ranked 24412 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ramzan Agaev (ranked 5036 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Ramzan Agaev was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mathew Yang! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ramzan Agaev! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Ryoma Takatsuka and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yang blocks a head kick by Agaev.
Yang tries to counter with a takedown but Agaev is quick to defend against it. Agaev lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
It looks like Mathew Yang has been cut. Yang misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Yang shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Agaev sprawls well. Agaev wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Yang gets slowly back to his feet. A little jabbing left from Agaev on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Agaev cracks Yang with an open hand slap. Agaev throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Agaev leaves Yang with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mathew Yang. That's going to take a lot out of him. Agaev fails to land with a series of punches.
Agaev has managed to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yang pulls guard successfully.
Yang preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Agaev scoring with punches to the head and body. Agaev trying to stand up but can't free himself from Yang's guard. Agaev throws a big elbow that misses. Agaev working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Agaev with a flurry of punches that miss. Yang knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Agaev on the ground. Agaev controlling from the top position. Yang working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Agaev. Agaev is looking to stand up but Yang won't let him. Agaev throws an elbow that misses. Yang uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Agaev's guard. Nice move by Yang!
Yang has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Agaev preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Agaev is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Yang is controlling him. Agaev tries to land a sweep but no joy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Yang prevents Agaev from getting back to his feet. Agaev keeping moving, preventing Yang from controlling successfully. Yang works over Agaev with some ground and pound from guard. Agaev wants to get back to his feet but Yang is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Agaev working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Yang. Agaev punching to the body, from the bottom. Yang won't allow Agaev to get back to his feet.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Agaev swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Agaev darts in and clinches Yang up against the cage. Yang tries to pull guard but Agaev won't allow it.
Agaev is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Yang pulls him back up using the underhooks. Yang breaks the clinch.
Yang misses with a takedown attempt - Agaev sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Agaev misses with a head kick.

Yang tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Agaev is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Yang buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Yang!! Yang is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Agaev throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ramzan Agaev! Ramzan Agaev decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
