Coming up we have a lightweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Ibbe Ribbler (ranked 2357 p4p, 264 weight class) and Carlton Lassiter (ranked 2171 p4p, 244 weight class). Ribbler's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Bad Religion - Infected. Ibbe Ribbler had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 1 losses; Ibbe Ribbler! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Hilo, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 1 losses; Carlton Lassiter! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Ribbler gets in close and instigates a clinch. Ribbler pulls guard. Ribbler looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lassiter is one step ahead there. Ribbler working a defensive guard here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lassiter sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ribbler's guard. Ribbler moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Lassiter wants to pass the guard but Ribbler is keeping the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ribbler pulls Lassiter in close to prevent any damage. Ribbler trying to keep a closed guard but Lassiter is proving a slippery customer.
