Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ragnar Lothbrok (ranked 2862 p4p, 289 weight class) and Beef Stew (ranked 1673 p4p, 183 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ragnar Lothbrok!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Beef Stew!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Skip Squint and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lothbrok misses with a takedown
and Stew counters with a stiff right hand.
Lothbrok cracks a nice hook into Stew's ribs.
Stew lunges at Lothbrok with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Lothbrok's hand.
Lothbrok ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Stew moves away.
Stew swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
A punch lands to the side of Lothbrok 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Lothbrok shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stew as he avoids it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lothbrok shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Stew manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Stew is trying to control the position but Lothbrok postures up.
Stew really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lothbrok. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lothbrok accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Lothbrok is pushing down on Stew's leg trying to pass to half guard. Stew is fighting to maintain full guard but Lothbrok has managed to sneak the leg through.

Stew is defending against the submission attempts here by Lothbrok.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Lothbrok throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Lothbrok throwing shots but Stew is blocking nicely.
Lothbrok is looking to advance position but Stew won't allow it.

Lothbrok is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Stew defends it well.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Lothbrok in particular looking to stall.
Lothbrok missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
We've been hearing that Lothbrok has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Lothbrok is looking to take a break and control but Stew is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Lothbrok is working for a submission of some sort.

Lothbrok throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Stew to regain full guard.
Lothbrok is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Lothbrok trying to control the position from guard on top but Stew is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Lothbrok throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Stew works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Ragnar Lothbrok seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lothbrok ducks under a wild hook from Stew.
Stew with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lothbrok throws a body shot but no joy.
Stew looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Lothbrok shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Stew but Stew pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ragnar Lothbrok. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nice takedown defense from Stew. No joy for Lothbrok on that attempt.
Stew swings for the body but Lothbrok moves out of range.
A nice inside leg kick there by Stew. That's going to slow Lothbrok down.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Stew jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A slow jab from Lothbrok misses its intended target.

A close round but Beef Stew will probably get the nod.

Stew misses with a kick to the body.
Lothbrok half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Stew keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Lothbrok shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stew as he avoids it easily.
A little jabbing left from Stew on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Stew cracks Lothbrok with an open hand slap.
Lothbrok walks into a stiff left hand from Stew.

Lothbrok uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Stew.
Lothbrok drops down looking for a counter takedown but Stew sprawls and moves away.
We've been informed that Stew has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Lothbrok swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Stew throws out a powerful jab.
Beef Stew is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Lothbrok is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Stew's half guard.
Stew won't allow Lothbrok to pass to mount.
Stew manages to get to full guard.

Lothbrok stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stew swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Lothbrok slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Stew keeping moving, preventing Lothbrok from controlling successfully.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Lothbrok shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Stew sprawls well. Stew wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lothbrok gets slowly back to his feet.

Lothbrok fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Stew manages to avoid it.

Stew throws a solid leg kick but Lothbrok takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Stew.

and Lothbrok decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Stew's guard.
Lothbrok has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lothbrok is working Stew over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Stew throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

It seemed like Stew was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Stew has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Lothbrok shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Stew as he jumps to the side.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Lothbrok swings for the body but Stew moves out of range.
Stew throws a fast counter high kick but Lothbrok manages to duck under it in time.
Beef Stew is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Lothbrok takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
The crowd cheers as Stew lands an impressive looking overhand right. Lothbrok doesn't seem phased though.
Stew slips a jab and a cross from Lothbrok.
Lothbrok shoots in but Stew avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Stew throws out a counter right but Lothbrok avoids it with no problem.

Stew works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Lothbrok tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Stew defends well and Lothbrok ends up having to push Stew into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Stew cracks Lothbrok with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Lothbrok misses with a hook. Stew ducked under it nicely.

Lothbrok fails with the takedown
and Stew counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Stew fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Lothbrok swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
enabling Stew to counter with a crisp jab.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Beef Stew comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
