The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yakuza gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Sakuraba counters with a shoot takedown. Yakuza fights it but they end up in guard.
Yakuza looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Sakuraba postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Sakuraba has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Sakuraba is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Yakuza is trying to escape and Sakuraba transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Yakuza is forced to tap! Nice work there by Sakuraba! Very nice indeed!
