0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Will Winner! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Igor Prikhodko and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Winner shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hatfield's guard. Hatfield has Winner pulled in close to control his posture. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hatfield escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Winner gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Hatfield is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Hatfield looking to hit a scissor sweep but Winner is one step ahead there. Hatfield looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Winner wants to control from the top but Hatfield keeps moving. Winner slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Hatfield is looking for a sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hatfield sneaks back into half guard. Winner wants to get back to his feet.
Winner looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Hatfield tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Hatfield could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Winner is in all sorts of trouble here.

Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Beau Hatfield overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Winner tries to lock up and control but Hatfield gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Hatfield controlling his opponent. Winner is wriggling around trying to escape.

A head kick misses from Winner. Winner dives in and scores a takedown into Hatfield's guard. Hatfield bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Winner's guard.
Hatfield gets to his feet - Winner follows without any prompting. Winner clinches up with Hatfield and pushes him back against the cage. Hatfield escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Winner feints and as Hatfield raises his hands in defense, Winner changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Winner missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Hatfield has control of Winner's left arm, preventing Winner from doing any damage. Hatfield is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Winner defends well. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Winner is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Hatfield has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Winner is looking to defend but Hatfield has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Winner! Hatfield pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Winner taps out and this one is all over!
