Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Iseul Peter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ahti Antipatros!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Peter closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Antipatros did well to prevent Peter getting side control.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Antipatros can do anything to dispel that myth.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Antipatros is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Peter leaves Antipatros with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Peter feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Antipatros shoots in looking for a takedown. Peter tries to sprawl out of it but Antipatros keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Peter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Peter shoots in for a double leg but Antipatros sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Antipatros defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Peter.

Antipatros fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Antipatros shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Peter sprawls well. Peter wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Antipatros gets slowly back to his feet.

Antipatros lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

We've been informed that Antipatros has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Peter tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Antipatros wants to get up but he can't break Peter's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

A close second round but Ahti Antipatros will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Antipatros will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Peter has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Antipatros is working away from the top position though.
Antipatros wants to stand up but Peter has a hold of him and won't allow it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Antipatros shoots in and bounces Peter off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Antipatros wants to stand but Peter has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Ahti Antipatros comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Antipatros has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
