The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Luis Engracia and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ricard tries to clinch but Souza moves out of range.
Ricard looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Souza fails with the takedown
and Ricard counters with a nice double leg into side control. Souza won't be happy with that.

Souza is not content to let Ricard control the position.
Souza is looking for a sweep.
Ricard has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Ricard is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Souza looks calm but he's in trouble here. Ricard gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Souza is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Ricard lets go of the hold and Souza can pop his arm back in it's socket.
