Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Jose Rizal (ranked 5926 p4p, 479 weight class) and Robin Van Roosmalen (ranked 6765 p4p, 503 weight class). Rizal comes to the ring accompanied by Noypi by Bamboo. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jose Rizal! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Robin Van Roosmalen! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Bart Greer and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Van Roosmalen throws a head kick that misses. Van Roosmalen looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Van Roosmalen jabs Rizal to the body, keeping him at a distance. A bone on bone clash there as Rizal blocks the leg kick.
Rizal ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Robin Van Roosmalen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Van Roosmalen wants to land a leg kick but Rizal is out of range. Rizal clinches with his opponent.

Van Roosmalen swings wildly with an uppercut but Rizal uses good head movement to avoid it. A short body shot lands from Rizal as the two fighters clinch.
Van Roosmalen throws a punch but it's blocked by Rizal. Rizal lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Rizal lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Van Roosmalen misses with the head strike.
Rizal lands an elbow inside. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Van Roosmalen looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Van Roosmalen takes an elbow to the temple. Rizal digs a right hand into Van Roosmalen's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Van Roosmalen's gas tank. Rizal is leaning against Van Roosmalen and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Van Roosmalen tries to work over Rizal's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Van Roosmalen has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Van Roosmalen is trying to push Rizal away but Rizal has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere. Van Roosmalen can't find room to land a body shot as Rizal controls the action.
Van Roosmalen takes an elbow to the forehead. Rizal lands an elbow that stopped Van Roosmalen in his tracks for a moment.
It looks like Robin Van Roosmalen has been cut. Van Roosmalen has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Rizal comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Rizal comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Rizal lands an elbow inside. Rizal blocking some punches.
Rizal lands with a left to the head. Van Roosmalen tries to break free but Rizal pushes him back against the ropes. Van Roosmalen tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Rizal's elbow. Van Roosmalen tries a body shot but Rizal blocks it.
Rizal scores with an uppercut up the middle. Van Roosmalen working hard to break the clinch. Rizal lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Van Roosmalen backwards. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Van Roosmalen misses with the head strike.

Rizal creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Van Roosmalen's defenses. Rizal scores with an uppercut up the middle. Van Roosmalen wants to get back to striking at distance but Rizal won't allow it.
Rizal definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Van Roosmalen wants to break free but Rizal has control.
Nice elbow from Rizal. Rizal presses Van Roosmalen against the ropes and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Van Roosmalen wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Rizal has him pressed against the ropes. Rizal has Van Roosmalen pressed against the ropes, preventing Van Roosmalen from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Rizal manages to break the clinch.
Rizal throws a body punch but Van Roosmalen moves out of range. Van Roosmalen looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. A big right from Van Roosmalen misses. Rizal has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Van Roosmalen. A swing and a miss from Van Roosmalen. Van Roosmalen thows a left - swing and a miss! Van Roosmalen blocks a jab. Van Roosmalen is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Van Roosmalen connects with a solid leg kick. Van Roosmalen misses with a wild body shot. Rizal is looking to counter punch. A left lands for Rizal.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rizal misses with a straight right. Rizal throws an overhand right that lands on Van Roosmalen's shoulder, as Van Roosmalen tries to avoid the shot. Van Roosmalen misses with a leg kick and Rizal counters with a straight right that drops Van Roosmalen on his ass! Van Roosmalen jumps back to his feet. He seems OK to continue so we'll get back to the action.
Van Roosmalen is rocked! Van Roosmalen pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Van Roosmalen is still on wobbly legs! Can Rizal finish him? Rizal looks to score with a jab to the body but Van Roosmalen is just out of range. Van Roosmalen unleashes a big counter combination but Rizal bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Van Roosmalen misses with a hook
and Rizal counters with a big uppercut that nearly lifts Van Roosmalen off his feet! Van Roosmalen crashes to the mat in all kinds of trouble! The referee starts the count but I'm not sure it's necessary - Van Roosmalen isn't going to make it! The count reaches 10 and this fight is all over! Rizal screams and throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmmm spit, everywhere. Lovely.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Jose Rizal! Jose Rizal retains his lightweight title! Jose Rizal seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
