Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Hristo Mihailov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mike Dillan! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Edson Gomes and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mihailov goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
It looks like Mike Dillan has been cut. Dillan lets loose with a powerful body kick. Mihailov will feel that in the morning. Mike Dillan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dillan throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mihailov. Mihailov throws a big counter combination but Dillan scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Dillan moves forwards but Mihailov connects with a nice, crisp jab. Dillan closes the distance and pushes Mihailov back into the ropes. Dillan breaks the clinch.
Dillan steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Mihailov. That one must have hurt. Dillan throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mihailov is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Dillan. Danga de danga de dang - Mihailov scores with a four punch combination! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mihailov pivots, looking for a leg kick but Dillan is out of range and Mihailov settles back down. Dillan takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Nice body kick there by Dillan. Mihailov throws a nice looking combination but Dillan bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Mihailov scores with a big combo that sends Dillan crashing to the mat! He's still conscious but the referee has seen enough as Dillan flops around uncontrollably and he's called an end to the fight! Mihailov jumps onto the ropes and throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Gross.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hristo Mihailov! Hristo Mihailov decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
