Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cristopher Carpenter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jesus Joseph! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Joseph dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Carpenter could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Joseph fails in his attempt to clinch. Joseph fails with an attempt to clinch.
Carpenter throws a lazy head kick and Joseph counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Joseph clinches with his opponent.
Joseph tries a body shot but Carpenter blocks it.
Joseph misses with a hook to the ribs.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carpenter tries to break the clinch but Joseph is controlling the position. Joseph struggles to land a body shot inside as Carpenter controls his hands.
That's one minute gone in the round. Joseph tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Joseph is defending well against a takedown attempt. Joseph presses Carpenter against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Carpenter tries to land knees in the clinch but Joseph avoids the damage to the body. Carpenter is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Joseph pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Joseph tries to clinch up. Carpenter misses with a wild combination.
Joseph is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Carpenter with a body shot. Joseph drives through and clinches with Carpenter against the cage.
Carpenter wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Joseph prevents Carpenter from breaking the clinch. Joseph lands a nice uppercut. Carpenter is trying to force a seperation but Joseph has the dominant position. Joseph breaks the clinch.
Joseph rushes Carpenter and presses him up against the cage. Joseph is working for takedown but Carpenter is calmly controlling the position for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Joseph keeps control of Carpenter as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Carpenter misses with a punch to the body.
Carpenter has had enough of the clinch but Joseph keeps him there for the moment. Joseph tries to throw a body punch but Carpenter avoids it by throwing Joseph back against the cage. Carpenter tries to pull guard but Joseph won't allow it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Carpenter blocks a body shot from Joseph. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jesus Joseph dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Joseph forces Carpenter back against the cage and clinches. Carpenter prevents a body shot from Joseph. Joseph has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Carpenter lands a body punch. Carpenter pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Joseph tries to clinch but Carpenter moves out of range. Joseph tries to clinch but Carpenter moves away and Carpenter counters with a three punch combo that has Joseph backing up. Joseph nods at Carpenter to acknowledge the strikes.

and Joseph counters with a one-two to the body. Carpenter misses with a jab, cross combination.
Joseph throws out a counter right but Carpenter avoids it with no problem. Joseph closes the distance and pushes Carpenter back into the cage. A short body shot lands from Joseph as the two fighters clinch.
Joseph works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Joseph digs a right hand underneath Carpenter's ribcage. Carpenter let out a lung full of air as it connected. Joseph goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Joseph tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Carpenter pulls Joseph into guard.
Joseph gets to his feet - Carpenter follows without any prompting. Joseph avoids the head kick by Carpenter.
A head kick from Carpenter lands but Joseph takes it in his stride. Joseph darts in looking for a takedown but Carpenter gets double underhooks and turns Joseph into the cage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Carpenter throws a lazy head kick and Joseph counters with a nice body shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carpenter throws a head kick but Joseph moves out of range.
Joseph tries to close the distance and clinch up but Carpenter swats him away and circles back towards the center. Carpenter will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Joseph thinks about the counter body kick. Joseph fails with an attempt to clinch.
Joseph moves into the clinch. Carpenter breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Cristopher Carpenter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Joseph showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Carpenter.
Joseph thinks about the counter body kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carpenter shoots in for a double leg but Joseph sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Carpenter throws a sloppy head kick and Joseph counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Joseph feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Joseph showing good wrestling skills to control the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Carpenter wants to get back to his feet but Joseph passes into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jesus Joseph showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

That's one minute gone in the round. Carpenter has picked Joseph up - he's going for a ride! Carpenter dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Joseph controlling the position well. Joseph regains full guard. Nicely done.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Joseph wants to sweep but no luck. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Joseph is on top in guard.
Carpenter has his foot on Joseph's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Joseph works his way back into a safe position though. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Joseph gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. A momentary lapse in concentration from Carpenter enables Joseph to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Carpenter manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Carpenter pushes Joseph off and gets back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Joseph fails with an attempt to clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Joseph closes the distance and clinches up with Carpenter, looking for a takedown. Joseph pushes Carpenter against the cage but Carpenter circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Carpenter thinks about countering with a head kick. Joseph shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Carpenter as he avoids it easily. Joseph moves in looking to clinch but Carpenter pushes him off. As Joseph looks to move away, Carpenter throws a big counter combo but Joseph just gets out of the way. Carpenter misses with a right hand and Joseph counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Carpenter rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Joseph moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Joseph clinches up with Carpenter and pushes him back against the cage. Joseph dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Joseph tries to work over Carpenter's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Jesus Joseph is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Joseph has Carpenter pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Carpenter manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Cristopher Carpenter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jesus Joseph. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Joseph tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Jesus Joseph. I've got Joseph winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
