Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alphonse Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Box!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Valeri Chadov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Box shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Box was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Miller explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Miller gets caught flat footed, as Box shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Box stays in close to Miller's body and controls the position.
Miller knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Box on the ground.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Box won't allow Miller to sweep him here.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Miller holds on and takes a little breather.
Box tries to stand but Miller is controlling from the bottom.
Box's corner is telling him to maintain position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Box postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Miller looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Box takes the fight into the clinch.
Box displaying some good clinch control by pressing Miller up against the cage.

Box manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Miller postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Miller content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Miller accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Box has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Box is continuing to stall.
Miller throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Box works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Box is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Box seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Miller keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Box's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Box working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Miller doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Box is tightening it up a little... Miller has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Miller reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Miller taps out! Nice BJJ there by Box!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Jack Box!
