Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brock Steve (ranked 2228 p4p, 43 weight class) and Umberto Grena (ranked 2423 p4p, 51 weight class). Umberto Grena is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Brock Steve!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Umberto Grena!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grena wants to clinch
and Steve counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Grena misses with a head kick.
Steve appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Grena throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Steve counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Grena throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Grena takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Steve thuds a left hand into Grena's body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Grena darts in trying to clinch
and Steve counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Steve closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Steve lands in his opponent's guard.

Steve decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Grena, up you get!
Steve circles away from the clinch attempt.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Steve is defended easily by Grena.
Steve moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Steve throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Grena throws a jab but it's blocked by Steve.
Steve thinks about countering with a body kick.
Grena takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Steve keeps the fight on the outside.

Grena closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Grena lands in his opponent's guard.

Steve kicks Grena off and gets to his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Steve jabs Grena to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Steve gets a clinch.
Steve blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Steve pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Grena tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Steve swivels and escapes.

Steve instigates a clinch.

Grena decides to pull guard.

Steve gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Steve is looking to wear down Grena with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Steve looks for a takedown but Grena sprawls well.
Grena swings and misses with a hook to the body.
We've been told by Steve's head coaches at FIERCE - {{$750}} - 15 Elite Coaches that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

It looks like Umberto Grena has been cut.
Grena dives in for a single leg takedown but Steve sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Nice body punch from Steve.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Steve jabs Grena right on the nose. Grena blinks but takes it well.
Steve goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Grena takes one to the chin there.
Steve punishes Grena's body with a nice straight punch.
Steve misses with a body kick.
Grena feints the counter takedown.
Grena tries to close the distance and clinch but Steve swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Steve fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Steve shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Grena is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Steve pulls his head out easily.
Grena tries to kick Steve off in order to stand up. Steve Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Steve decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Grena gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Grena is trying to stall.
Grena wants a takedown.
Grena is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Steve is defending well for now.

Steve escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Steve moves into range and connects with a jab.
Grena throws a sloppy head kick and Steve moves out of range easily.
It looked like Steve was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Steve shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Grena sprawls well. Grena wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Steve gets slowly back to his feet.

Grena tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Steve paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Steve scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
A head kick by Grena misses

and Steve moves into the clinch.
Grena looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Grena is trying to pull guard but Steve turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Steve breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Grena tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Steve counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Steve connects with a right hand. Grena shakes it off.

Steve shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Steve decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Grena walks forward, straight into a front kick from Steve.

Steve rushes Grena and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Grena tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Brock Steve has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Umberto Grena.
Grena trying to stall but Steve improves his position.

Steve breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Steve tries to score a power double leg takedown but Grena sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Steve somewhat.
Steve sets himself, and Grena steps forward looking for the clinch! Steve avoids it this time.

Grena rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Steve moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Steve is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Steve comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Grena tries a head kick but it misses.
Steve pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Grena back to the cage. Steve follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Steve fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Brock Steve is winning the standup battle so far.
Steve showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Grena.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Grena tries to clinch up but Steve circles away and keeps his distance.
Grena throws a head kick that misses
and Steve counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Good leg kick by Steve there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Grena takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Steve stuns Grena with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Grena looks to throw a body kick
and Grena takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Steve dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Steve tries to score a power double leg takedown but Grena sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Steve somewhat.

Steve connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Grena momentarily.

Grena doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Steve scores with a head kick. Grena tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Steve scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Grena doesn't seem bothered though.
